The first mock exam is the result of structural damage. The damage evolution of structures is caused by structural deterioration. Therefore,to analyze the deterioration process of structures, different scale elements should be introduced into the same model, that is,the combination of macroscopic scale and microscopic scale, which can not only analyze the overall mechanical response of structures, but also consider the damage of local fine parts. The effect of accumulation on the response of structural system. In order to effectively estimate the safety of large buildings, and reasonably understand the damage evolution process of the structure to reveal the destruction mechanism of the structure. This paper mainly studies the damage and failure process of Kewitt-6 reticulated shell structure under static load and earthquake. The main research contents are:First, based on the structural response sensitivity under load, considering the influence of component stiffness parameters on the strain energy of the component, the vulnerability and redundancy evaluation indexes of the component were established to quantitatively evaluate the easiness of failure and the impact on the structure after damaged. And the ratio of the two is used as a measure of the importance of the component to quantify the importance of the component in the structure. The value of the component importance coefficient can intuitively reflect the role of the component in the structure, which reflects the easiness of failure under load can also reflect the degree of influence of the member on the structure after the failure, and realize the identification of the local key components of the structure. On this basis,it uses micro-scale modeling to establish a multi-scale model of the structure. Then, taking the plane truss structure and Kewitt-6 spherical reticulated shell structure as the research objects, the structural response and multi-scale damage behavior under static load are analyzed, and the interface connection between the different scale models of the structure and the implementation method are explained. The cantilever beam was used to verify the correctness of the connection method between different scales, indicating that the multi-scale model can be used instead of a single-scale model to analyze some local key parts of the structure. The damage area of the structure will continue to expand along the direction of member, which will cause local failure of the structure. Finally, the damage multi-scale effect and collapse process of the Kewitt-6 reticulated shell structure during earthquake action are studied.Based on the central difference method of explicit finite elements analysis, the energy balance of the structure during the earthquake action is used as the criterion for its collapse judgment,to study the response of the structure under the earthquake action and the collapse process, according to the external force of the structure during the earthquake action is far less than the energy consumption of the structure itself, which can get the collapse time of the structure. In addition,in order to further study the damage mechanism inside the structure, the multi-scale analysis method was used to analyze the response of the local fine parts of the structure under the action of the earthquake, and it was found that the multi-scale structure can more intuitively reflect the actual situation of the structure damage and the response process.
