Most of the existing limit position devices used in skewed bridges only have unidirectional limit capabilities,and a few limiters with bidirectional limit functions have very limited limit capabilities.To this end,this paper proposes a closed in-plane deformation damper applied to skewed bridges.The main work of this paper is as follows:(1)Based on the reliable establishment of the damper model using ABAQUS,the shape of the closed in-plane deformation damper is initially determined based on the soft steel damper.Continue to explore the influence of the shape parameters of the damper on the energy consumption performance,and then based on the principle of optimal longitudinal and transverse energy consumption performance,design the single-layer optimal shape of the closed in-plane deformation damper.(2)On the basis of designing the shape of the single-layer enclosed in-plane deformation damper,according to the idea of staged yield,a rubber section is added between the connecting plate and the transition section.Next,the numerical relationship between the length of the rubber section and the yield displacement is analyzed,and then the first,second,and third designs are calculated according to the relative displacements of the pier and beam of the three-span simply supported beam skew bridge under frequent earthquakes,design,and rare earthquakes.Displacement,and then calculate the length of the rubber section back,and finally assemble the enclosed in-plane deformation damper added to the rubber section to make the assembled damper have the ability to yield in stages.(3)Combined with the shaking table test data of the skew bridge,the reliability of the skew bridge model established using Open Sees was verified.On the basis of the reliability of the skew bridge model,Open Sees was continued to be used to establish the closed-surface deformation damping model.After that,the limit effect of different installation methods of the damper in the 30 °,45 ° and 60 ° skew bridges is analyzed,and the installation method with the best limit effect of the damper at different skew angles is determined.(4)Investigate the effect of different kinds of stoppers,such as cable stoppers,X-shaped elastoplastic stoppers and buckling restraint support(BRB),on the application of three-span simply-supported beam skew bridges.Comparison of internal deformation dampers.The comparison found that compared with the first three,the closed in-plane deformation damper has excellent vertical and horizontal limiting effects.
