Military weapons,such as novel submerged missiles and super-cavitating torpedoes have become a hot spot in the development of navy equipments in our country and abroad.For the study of super-cavitating weapons,it is essential to investigate its propulsion system and performance in high-speed cavitating flow through super-cavitating experiments.However,the limitations on the implement of high-speed water flow for present methods impose great restrictions on the experiment.This paper proposes a new type of highspeed surface vehicle.It can be used as a super-cavitating experimental platform,which carrys super-cavitating models during the cruising experiment.Testing equipments can be loaded and applied to collect and observe the data.Considering the high-speed surface vehicle,this paper proposes two types of layout schemes.For the hydrofoil and the submerged vehicle,both the full-wet and cross-surface numerical simulation is carried out.The characteristics of the cavitation flow field are discussed,and the variation law of its hydrodynamic characteristics is obtained.For multiphase cavitating flow,a calculation model coupling VOF model,Schnerr Sauer cavitation model and k-? SST turbulence model is established.Based on OpenFOAM,an open source software platform,a solver for multiphase cavitation flow is developed.The applicability and accuracy of both the numerical method and solver are verified by the simulation of a 2D hydrofoil and a high-speed submerged projectile.The configuration scheme of a double-hydrofoil layout for the high-speed surface vehicle is proposed.We carry out two-phase cavitating simulation on the 2D TAP-1 supercavitating hydrofoil,the mounted vehicle and the hydrofoil-body part.The research reveals the distribution law of the flow parameters.Hydrodynamic characteristics of the hydrofoil and interference between the hydrofoil and the submerged body are obtained as well.For the single-hydrofoil layout scheme of the surface vehicle,the flow field of 2D composite hydrofoil,the vertical surface-piercing hydrofoil and the hydrofoil-body part are respectively studied considering the free-surface.The phenomena of bubble generation and surface fluctuation are simulated and analysed.We reveal the variation law on the hydrodynamics of surface-piercing hydrofoils.The flow structure and hydrodynamic features of the single-hydrofoil layout hydrofoil-body part with free surface are obatained.This paper gives innovative configuration design for high-speed surface vehicle.Based on numerical simulation,we systematically studied and discussed the hydrodynamic characteristics of two different layout schemes of the vehicle.Technical support can be provided for the design and research of super-cavitating experimental platform and other high-speed surface vehicles.
