Research On Conservation And Development Of Architectural Features In Quanzhou Old Town From The Urban Perspective

As the starting point of the maritime silk road and the cultural capital of east Asia,Quanzhou has been well developed in terms of its spatial pattern and architectural features due to the prosperity of overseas trade.The integration of central plains culture,maritime trade culture,overseas Chinese hometown culture and other cultures makes Quanzhou form a unique architectural style in each historical period.As one of the twenty-four famous historical and cultural cities announced by the state council in the first batch,Quanzhou built a new town development to protecting the old town.So that the original spatial pattern of the old town is relatively intact.Now we can not only see the red brick houses,arcades and mansions with unique Minnan characteristics in Quanzhou old town,but also lots of modern buildings with high-rise buildings in the new town,forming a unique urban architectural style.However,the development of Quanzhou old town architectural style also faces many problems,such as the city’s infrastructure is weak,the old town original spatial pattern can’ t match the needs of urban development in the new era.The contradiction between the conservation and development of the old town architectural style is increasingly prominent.The evolution of architectural style in the city is also closely related to the historical background and historical changes.This paper hopes to summarize the evolution process of architectural features in Quanzhou old town by the context of urban development.From a new perspective on architectural style and the correlation of urban development.Through the investigation of Quanzhou ancient city to analyze the conservation and development of the old town’s architectural features.Improve the development of Quanzhou ancient city building style of the relevant information.Finally,taking the Xianhou block as an example,analyzing the evolution of architectural features in the area.Through the area of in-depth research and analysis for architecture style and conservation situation and problems,summarize conservation strategy.Through the conservation of the old town historical heritage and spatial pattern to enhance the architectural style of the area.It provides reference for the development and conservation of architectural style in other areas of the ancient city.
