The frontal small offset collision is a special form of collision in the research of automotive collision safety,which poses a great threat to the living space of the occupants,because it avoids the main energy-absorbing structure at the front of the vehicle body(anti-collision beam,energy absorbing box,front longitudinal beam,etc.),and excessive collision energy is transferred to the passenger compartment.Meanwhile,the frontal small offset collision will cause a large deflection of the whole vehicle,and the occupant leans forward and collides with the hard structure of the vehicle such as A-pillar.Therefore,the research on occupant injury protection under the condition of frontal small offset collision can have a practical promotion value and theoretical research significance for improving the crashworthiness of the vehicle and occupant protection ability.This paper took a medium and large SUV of Soueast Motor as the research object,and based on the China Insurance Automotive Safety Index(C-IASI)test specification and latest requirements,to improve the safety performance of the frontal small offset collision on the driver's side and the passenger's side,and used finite element simulation technology and optimization design method to analyze and optimize the vehicle crashworthiness and occupant injury,so as to improve the safety level of occupant injury protection under the condition of vehicle small offset collision.The main research contents are as follows:(1)Based on the finite element theory,the finite element models of frontal 25%offset vehicle collision simulation on the driver's side and the frontal passenger's side of the SUV were established by using the Radioss software,and the Physical benchmarking test was carried out to verify the effectiveness of the simulation model.(2)Taking the improvement of the crashworthiness of the body structure as the evaluation target,through the material improvement and structural design,respectively,the body structure improvement scheme was proposed for the front compartment and the passenger compartment of the car by comparing and analyzing the physical field response of body structure and the occupant injure response of the driver's side and the passenger's side.The vehicle crashworthiness is improved,and the lower limb injury of occupants was optimized after improvement.(3)Aiming at the shortcomings after the improvement of the vehicle,selected the parts with the significant influence on the structure deformation of the small offset collision as the design object,the optimal Latin hypercube test design method was used to determine the sample points,the basic data of the sample points are obtained by using Radioss simulate,the approximate model was established by Kriging,and the multi-objective optimization calculation was performed by NSGA-?.Finally,the structural crashworthiness and occupant injury of the vehicle model are significantly improved,and the improved scheme is feasible.
