The dissertation research has been conducted studying architectural form of the 2018 FIFA World Cup stadiums in Russia. The FIFA World Cup 2018 is attractive to be chosen as a studying period due to the geographic differences of the host cities.Except the fact that climate of the cities where the World Cup were held changes from one to another, there are also cultural, economics, contextual surroundings and available materials aspects that influence the development of the venues’ architectural form. Moreover, technological progress, which had a strong impulse for development in the 21 st century, also leaves a noticeable trace on World Cup stadiums. The venues of the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia held in Moscow,Saint Petersburg,Kazan,Samara,Volgograd,Ekaterinburg,Sochi,Saransk,Rostov-on-Don,Kaliningrad and in Nizhniy Novgorod. The purpose of the research was to observe the 2018 FIFA World Cup stadiums’ architectural form in different cities under the influence of technological progress, environment surrounding and cultural differences,to gather information about new strategies in architectural development and to combine it into an assemble of various design methods and techniques. The research process included collecting general information about stadiums’ architecture through internet sources and literature, conducting a research about existing FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia buildings through contacting architectural companies, which were involved into the architectural design, studying articles and books, conducting a research about consequences of using innovative building technologies, methods and materials through studying architectural overviews and feedbacks. The dissertation research has been conducted studying architectural form of the 2018 FIFA World Cup stadiums in Russia. It consists of 4 Chapters.Chapter 1 Introduction describes football and the FIFA World Cup history, construction of the 21 st Century FIFA World Cup stadiums, the purpose of the study and the significance of the study,International experience of the study(foreign countries experience and experience of the study in China),also study methodology and outline.Chapter 2 FIFA World Cup football stadium architecture research overview describes FIFA World Cup football stadiums architectural design principles and design requirements, factors affecting the FIFA World Cup stadiums architectural designing, results achieved via FIFA World Cup Stadiums’ Architectural Designing, aspects affecting the development of the holding country and geographical influence on 2018 FIFA World Cup Architecture form and integration into surrounding environment.Chapter 3 2018 FIFA World Cup stadiums’ adaptive transformation of architecture forms consists of the main overview of the 2018 FIFA World Cup stadiums in Russia, modern construction technologies influence on 2018 FIFA World Cup Architecture Form,ecological-friendly technologies influence on 2018 FIFA World Cup Venues’ form and design technologies influence on 2018 FIFA World Cup Venues’ form.Chapter 4 New technologies of modern stadium 2018 Russian FIFA World Cup structures describes 2018 Russian FIFA World Cup football stadiums’ new technologies, modern intelligent 2018 Russian FIFA World Cup football stadiums’ technologies,2018 Russian FIFA World Cup football stadiums’ modern ecology technologies and 2018 Russian FIFA World Cup football stadiums’ Modern Media technologies. The architectural forms of stadiums are constantly changing under the influence of many technological factors.Their purpose and requirements for international sports competitions, especially environmental and safety requirements, also change. All this has a direct impact on the architectural appearance of the stadiums, which should be organically incorporated into the environment, taking into account the climatic, historical and cultural features of the cities and regions were hosted the 2018 FIFA World Cup.All of these factors should have been taken into account in the design,as part of the reconstructed 2018 World Cup stadiums in Russia are objects of cultural heritage, whose appearance should remain unchanged, but at the same time all requirements for holding international sports competitions must be followed, including stadiums’ capacity(one of the stadiums in Moscow and the stadium in Ekaterinburg). Some of the new stadiums were built in close proximity to the monuments of architecture(the stadiums in Volgograd and Nizhny Novgorod),the stadium in St.Petersburg was built to meet the difficult climatic conditions, the stadium in Kaliningrad was built on difficult ground, the architecture of the stadium in Samara reflected the main activity of the region, and the colors of the stadium in Mordovia reflected the national flavor of the region.Ways to solve all these problems in the design of 2018 FIFA World Cup stadiums, the technologies and materials used, the innovations in the design and the maintenance of operation after conducting the 2018 are reflected in this dissertation research.
