This thesis is concerned with the study on typical structural parameters in highway concrete bridge design with different codes such as AASHTO LRFD(2012)Bridges Design Specifications,Chinese code(JTG D60-2015 and JTG D63-2007)and Indian code(IS 2911:2010).It is divided into two parts. In the first part, the moments and shears distribution factors of concrete beam bridges due to live load are calculated in accordance with AASHTO LRFD code and Chinese code formulas for both interiors and exteriors beams. The influence of beam spacing and span length to live load distribution factors for both codes are also presented and analyzed. For the second part, the concretes piles capabilities are calculated in accordance with Indian Code and Chinese code formulas. The piles dimensions due to the same and different axial load for both codes are also studied and analyzed. For both two parts, the results are obtained in terms of comparison and are presented in format of graphs.Based on calculations procedures for each code, the following observations are obtained:For concrete beam bridge:1.Chinese code gave the lower moment distribution factors than AASHTO LRFD code for larger beam spacing i.e.>1.9~2.0m but gave high moment distribution factor for smaller beam spacing for both interior and exterior beams;2.Chinese code gave higher shear distribution factors than AASHTO LRFD code for beam spacing > 2m but the situation reversed for smaller beam spacing for interior beams. For exterior beams, the shear distribution factors of Chinese code are lower than AASHTO LRFD code for all spacing;3.The increase in beam spacing has a major effect on moment and shear distribution factors for interior and exterior beams for both codes while the increase in span length has minor effect except the moment distribution factor for AASHTO LRFD for interior beams. For concrete piles:1.The bearing capacities both ultimate and allowable bearing capacities from Indian code is higher than the bearing capacities from Chinese code;2.For worse condition,i.e.When the subsoil has a thick layer more than 20 m of weak soil, beyond this length Indian code gave lower bearing capacities than Chinese code;3.With the same or different working axial load, the allowable length of pile from Indian code is lower than allowable length from Chinese code while for continuous worse subsoil condition, the allowable length of pile from Indian code is higher than allowable length from Chinese code.
