One of the main Objectives that the railway operation and management have to provide is a reliable and high services,Development of creative operational management approaches is very to maximize existing efficiency,Enhance quality and rail service quality, due to the difficulties involved in rail operations planning, the limited opportunities for improving rail infrastructure and the growing demand for rail and customer services. The train scheduling is an important phase in the rail operations strategic planning, which is used as the base for rail operations organization. In this thesis a mathematical programming model will be described as a support tool for double-track rail network scheduling trains,And a strategic resource to evaluate the effects of changes in traffic demand and rail infrastructure The problem of double-track train scheduling is built as a variable-based accumulated flow model with the objective of minimizing total train travel time under a collection of operational and safety constraints by reformulating infrastructure resources using a vector of cumulative flow variables in the time-space network.Nexta-Rail Network editor will be used to build the physical network, and the Fast Train open-source train scheduling is used to solve the model proposed. The network has been established with 15 stations. The average travel time of the train is increasing with increasing demand for traffic. The results of this research can be directly used as a basis for rail operations and infrastructure planning,as well as a framework for further studies on the capacity of this line.
