Preparation And Properties Of SBS Modified Asphalt With Thermochromic Materials

Styrene-butadiene-styrene copolymer(SBS)modified asphalt is widely utilized in road construction.However,aging effect on SBS modified asphalt is still a serious problem that needs to be resolved.Thermochromic materials have been demonstrated that it can-not only adjust the road surface temperature but also improve the aging performance of base asphalt.And at present,most of the materials used for high grade pavement are SBS modified asphalt.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the effect of thermochromic materials on SBS modified asphalt.This paper mainly studies the influence of red,black and blue thermochr o m i c materials on the properties of SBS modified asphalt and SBS modified aspha lt mixt u re.Firstly,by studying the influence of red thermochromic materials with different conte nt on the physical rheology and anti-aging properties of SBS modified asphalt,the most reasonable content was determined.Then the effects of different color thermochro m i c materials on the physical,rheological and anti-aging properties of SBS modified aspha lt were studied.On the basis of the above,the effects of three colors of thermochro m i c materials on the properties of SBS modified asphalt mixture were further studied.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The red thermochromic material will slightly reduce the high-temperature performance of SBS modified asphalt,but greatly improve its low-tempera t ur e performance.When the content is 4%,the effect of improving low tempera t ur e performance is the most obvious.Under the three aging modes,adding 2% or 4% red thermochromic materials to SBS modified asphalt can improve the anti-a g i ng performance of SBS modified asphalt.(2)Different color thermochromic material will weaken the high-tempera t ur e performance of SBS modified asphalt.But thermochromic materials can great ly improve low-temperature grading of SBS modified asphalt.The continuous grad ing of blue thermochromic materials with SBS modified asphalt has the widest perform a nc e grading temperature range.All of three kinds of thermochromic materials can impr o ve the aging resistance of SBS modified asphalt.Combined with the results of short-t e r m thermal oxygen aging,ultraviolet aging and long-term aging,adding red thermochro m i c material with a content of 2% in SBS modified asphalt has the best effect on impro v i ng the anti-aging ability.(3)Red,black and blue thermochromic materials can reduce the high-temperature performance of SBS modified asphalt mixture,but can improve its low-tempera t ur e performance and water stability.In addition,three thermochromic materials can improve the natural aging resistance of SBS modified asphalt mixture.
