| Columbarium building is a new type of three-dimensional tomb, which is highly praised by contemporary society because of its high efficiency and protection of environment.Based on the engineering design practice of columbarium project of Tingzi Mountain Funeral Park in Pukou District,Nanjing, this paper explores how to create columbarium space through traffic streamline design to suit people’s tombsweeping activities today.Firstly, the thesis makes a scientific expound on this special type of building of columbarium, which includes the discussion of its origin, characteristics, trends and limitations in contemporary construction. From the perspective of sacrifice, the thesis made a series of studies on both traditional culture of sacrifice and contemporary sacrificial activities.During the study, problems of contemporary columbarium buildings were identified through interviews with funeral workers, and the user’s preference for the columbarium space was understood by questionnaire conducted on citizens. Therefore, the overall goal of the design is proposed.Through the theoretical research,it was found that the design of traffic streamline of columbarium could be divided into three levels: function, space and experience which is also the logic of the studies.Subsequently, the research results above were used to complete the design practice of Tingzi Mountain Funeral Park project. In the fourth chapter of this paper, the design content and process of the project were also elaborated according to the three levels of function, space and experience, and the research above was then tested and improved in practice. The research results and theory were eventually put into the drawings. This dissertation includes about 38231 chinese characters and 138 images and diagrams. |
