Comprehensive Preservation Strategy For Ancient Cities

Ancient cities as historical as history books,are treasure of all civilizations..However,under the guidance of the Historical and Cultural City System,historical city protection is mainly for famous cities,and the historical cities that can be included in the national or provincial city protection system are very limited.The historical city protection problem with a large number of historical values has not been fully solved.Attention to the fact that its historical value is underestimated,the overall benefits brought about by urban development are also ignored.The paper introduces the concept of holistic protection and tries to solve the double dilemma of “historical protection” and “urban development” faced by historical cities by means of association and system.The main content of this paper is divided into three parts: current situation research,strategy research and practical application.In the current situation cognition,firstly,the historical city protection profile is sorted out,and it is found that the historical city protection presents insufficient quantity,uneven geographical distribution,and poor protection of small and medium-sized cities.The city case was extracted for specific analysis,pointing out the dilemma of the current historical city in the process of historical space recognition,historical resource utilization,and human cultural continuity.Finally,summarize the significance of the overall protection of historical cities.In the strategy construction,the thesis starts from the connotation of the overall protection of historical cities,and discusses the overall protection strategy at three levels: at the spatial level,proposes a spatial network that constructs the overall relationship of historical elements,and overcomes the separation of historical elements.The tendency is to operate the historical space network in the modern city function system and continue the historical context;to propose the composite function of strengthening the overall utilization of the block unit in the historical resource utilization level,and summarize the five land unit utilization modes,the goal is to protect While continuing the traditional pattern,it meets the diversified needs of urban functions;at the protection implementation level,it proposes multi-dimensional cooperation to promote the overall synergy of courtyard groups,and analyzes the important role of courtyard groups in continuation of plane texture and social structure,targeting the loss of residents.Realistic dilemma explores the countermeasures for multi-faceted cooperation with residents as the core in the courtyard group.In practical application,the paper takes Luoyang Old Town as an empirical case.The stratification of historical development,the fragmentation of the status quo and the weak protection are universal in the historical cities of China.Based on the analysis of the evolution of time and space and the status quo,this paper discusses the overall protection method of Luoyang Old Town,from the spatial network utilization of factor integration,the composite function development of land parcel subdivision and the multi-faceted cooperation of courtyard groups.Specific practices provide practical and operative suggestions and references for similar historical cities.
