Pedestrian traffic behaviors in public spaces such as hospitals are complex. The general demand of pedestrians for service facilities in the space causes multi-directional travel, leading to frequent occurrence of multi-directional conflicts. As an effective method to study pedestrian flow, microscopic simulation has become the focus of research in the field of transportation.Carrying out multi-directional pedestrian traffic simulation research to reasonably reproduce pedestrian behavior is of great significance to quantitative analysis of space design and optimization of facilities. This article adopts the idea of "Pedestrian Movement Measurement-Behavioral Characteristics Analysis-Pedestrian Behavior Modeling-Simulation Modeling-Model Verification-Model Application" to model and simulate the pedestrian movement based on the analysis of pedestrian traffic characteristics in the hospital outpatient hall.It can deeply study the pedestrian behavior in the hospital outpatient hall, improve the pedestrian movement traffic flow theory, and can provide the basis and way of quantitative analysis for similar places. The main research contents of this article include are as below:(1)Studying multidirectional pedestrian traffic characteristics.Selecting the outpatient hall of Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine as the research and data collection environment. The space was divided according to pedestrian behavior characteristics, pedestrians differed in movement characteristics such as speed in different walking areas.Focusing on the analysis of the conflict behavior of multi-directional pedestrians in the gathering area,it is found that during the conflict, pedestrians tend to choose pedestrians with a smaller angle to their own speed direction to produce common avoidance behavior.(2)Establishing a multi-directional pedestrian micro simulation model based on Social Force Model.According to the analysis of pedestrian behaviors and movement characteristics in different walking areas in the hospital outpatient hall, this article establishes a micro-simulation model based on the social force model in three scenes, focusing on the establishment of conflict-avoidance behavior models in conflict-intensive scenes. In order to describe the common avoidance behavior of pedestrians in multi-directional conflicts, this article introduces pedestrian space division rules to improve psychological repulsion, and considers the common avoidance willingness to introduce common avoidance pedestrian attraction. In addition, learning from particle discrete element theory to improve the contact force between pedestrians, effectively avoiding excessive overlap of pedestrian bodies.(3)Completing parameter calibration and model validity verification. The focus is to calibrate the attraction correction coefficient and improved psychological repulsion related parameters in the common avoidance behavior in multidirectional pedestrian conflicts. This article writes the simulation program in Python programming language, and use the outpatient hall of Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine as the simulation environment.Through the common avoidance behavior description, the relationship between basic characteristics of traffic flow, and the multi-directional pedestrian simulation speed distribution in different regions, the effectiveness of the model was verified.(4)Analyzing the case of space design hospital outpatient hall.Based on pedestrians’ needs of service in the outpatient hall of Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the effects of the architectural form and functional layout of the outpatient hall were analyzed through simulation experiments, and the program evaluation was carried out based on indicators such as pedestrian speed and pedestrian travel time in the aggregation area. And put forward the design principles of the outpatient hall space of similar types of hospitals.
