Research On The Architectural Design Method Dominated By Subtractive Space

Architects continue to pursue new design methods and concepts to meet people's aesthetic and emotional needs while realizing architectural functions.But at present,the major architectural design methods usually start from the building entities,occupying a large number of urban public space.With the rapid progress of urbanization,the building entities continue to compress the urban space,making people's living environment increasingly crowded.Balancing the use of urban space,integrating design with nature,and optimizing people's life experience become the trend of architectural design.Therefore,this paper advocates to take the subtractive space as the leading factor in architectural design to provide solutions to the above problems.First of all,through the study of the relevant theories at home and abroad,this paper clearly puts forward the concept of subtractive space and differentiates it from other space concepts.Positive-subtractive space is the evolution of the concept of positive-subtractive shape in graphic design,which is derived from the idea similar to Yin-Yang and virtual-reality.On this basis,this paper puts forward the operation method of building subtractive space,and discusses its spatial function from three aspects,i.e.the degree of subtractive space,the direction of space extension and the position in the whole building,by analogy with the three elements of force.Then,the place spirit generated by combining human behavior and emotion,natural elements,cultural elements and urban texture is analyzed in detail,and the means of creating place spirit using the subtractive space is established.A large number of cases confirm the effectiveness and reliability of the subtractive space operation and the method of building place spirit.Finally,using the established design strategy,a new library in a large city is designed,which proves its unique effect.This paper puts forward the research of architectural design method dominated by subtractive space,which provides a variety of choices for the current architectural design and urban planning and provides a new way of thinking for architectural design,which is worthy of reference and use by architects.
