The lightning location system(LLS)has been established within Jiangsu Power Grid.It has formed a world-leading real-time lightning detection network with scale and technology level,and a large amount of lightning activity data has been accumulated so far.However,most of the data is still deposited in various power companies without any analysis.It seriously affects the understanding of lightning occurrence behavior and the temporal and spatial distributions.In order to reduce the disasters caused by thunder and lightning,this paper summarizes and analyses the law of lightning activity in Jiangsu area based on the data of LLS,which can provide some reference value for lightning protection transformation of important transmission lines.Firstly,this paper briefly introduces the location principle of Jiangsu Lightning Location System and the statistical method of lightning parameters.Based on the lightning location system which has been connected to the network,the lightning data of the important transmission corridors in Jiangsu Province from 2013 to 2017 are scientifically classified and sorted out.The lightning parameters such as ground lightning frequency,ground lightning density,lightning current amplitude,positive polarization,average return stroke frequency are statistically analyzed by linear regression analysis and correlation analysis,and the temporal-spatial distribution charactertics of lightning activities in Jiangsu Province are obtained.Early warning technology can improve the level of lightning damage control and lightning fault prevention.Based on the monitoring data of atmospheric electric field,lightning location and satellite cloud image,a regional lightning strike warning method is proposed in this paper.The threshold conditions of early warning start are determined by integrating the electro-mechanical field sensor and radar sounding ability,which can reduce the overall false alarm rate of lightning monitoring network and the spatial error of early warning.The improved K-Means algorithm is used to cluster the lightning spatio-temporal processes on different time scales in the same region.Then,according to the historical data of thunderstorm activity,the speed and direction of future thunderstorm movement are predicted.The results of calculation are consistent with the actual situation,which verifies the correctness and reliability of the early warning method.Finally,taking three important transmission channels in Jiangsu Province as the research object,the distribution of lightning activity parameters such as ground lightning frequency and ground lightning density in the transmission corridor is explored.Based on the lightning activity characteristics and trip conditions of transmission lines from 2013 to 2017,the lightning trip laws of 500 and 220 kV transmission lines in Jiangsu power grid are obtained,and the main factors affecting lightning trip are expounded.Aiming at three typical lightning strike fault cases in Jiangsu power grid,this paper judges the types of line faults by calculating the lightning resistance level of the faulty poles and towers of each line,points out the shortcomings of line lightning protection measures,and provides a reliable reference for further improving the level of lightning protection and formulating corresponding line transformation plans.
