The vertical axis wind turbine has the advantages of simple structure,no yaw,low noise and low cost,but also has the problem of poor self-starting performance and low power generation efficiency.In order to improve the aerodynamic performance of vertical axis wind turbine,this paper analyzes and improves the aerodynamic performance of vertical axis wind turbine with different tip speed ratio by using computational fluid dynamics method.Through the verification and analysis of the simulation results,the contour and output torque of the wind turbine rotor and the single blade are obtained.The variable parameter method is adopted to change the wind wheel structural parameters to obtain the general law of the influence of wind turbine solidity,blade airfoil and installation angle on the wind turbine utilization coefficient.In addition,a deflector is added at the upstream of the vertical axis wind turbine,and the high-speed fluid behind the plate is used to improve the cut in wind speed to improve the aerodynamic performance of the wind turbine.The simulation results show that the peak value of wind energy utilization coefficient increases with the increase of solidity,but the corresponding tip velocity ratio decreases,and the optimal operating range narrows.The wind energy utilization coefficient of NACA0015 airfoil is 0.288 when the tip speed ratio is 2.8 under wind speed 7 m/s.When the installation angle of blade increases,the utilization coefficient of wind energy increases first and then decreases.There is a better installation angle of blade of 2°.In this paper,the use of one-sided and two-sided symmetrical deflectors can improve the wind energy utilization coefficient.When two symmetrical deflectors are placed vertically 0.75 times of the diameter of the main shaft of the wind turbine,a larger wind energy utilization coefficient of 0.365 can be obtained.This paper provides a reference for the selection of structural parameters of vertical axis wind turbine,and provides a new idea for improving the aerodynamic performance of vertical axis wind turbine.
