In the form of traffic accident damage to children,head injury is one of the most probable forms of death and disability.Therefore,research on children's head is particularly important.At present,there are few experimental data on children's cadavers at home and abroad.The development of many models is also concentrated on children of specified age,percentile and gender.Different human characteristics parameters,children's head shape parameters will also change,which will cause differences in the biomechanical properties of children's head.In view of this situation,this paper will develop head models of children with different ages,heights,body mass index(BMI)and gender.In order to solve the problem of the current time-consuming and laborious-consuming methods of children's head traditional research,this paper will adopt the parametric modeling method,and the mesh deformation technique can be used to quickly generate the child head mesh model to study the effects of different human body parameters on the child's head shape.Main works and studies of this paper were shown as follows:1)Through threshold segmentation and three-dimensional reconstruction of 60 clinical computed tomography(CT)data,the parametric mesh model was obtained by pre-processing,posture adjustment,marker selection,statistical analysis and mesh deformation.The final model can well represent the geometry of children's head and has high mesh quality.2)After mesh deformation,the material model of the mesh model has not changed.A child head model is predicted and the head drop simulation experiment is carried out.The reliability of the model is verified by comparing with the cadaveric experimental data of Loyd,which lays a foundation for the subsequent finite element analysis of head injury in children.The conclusion proves the accuracy of the prediction model.3)The morphological parameters of the prediction model were measured and the trend of the morphological parameters with age,percentage and sex was obtained.Meanwhile,the significant influence of the human body characteristic parameters on the morphological parameters was studied.In addition,the change trend of skull thickness with age was measured.It can be concluded that most of the morphologicalparameters are gradually increasing with age and percentage,while the male morphological parameters are generally larger than the female.The parametric modeling method used in this paper can quickly get the head model of children,and has a high degree of bio-fidelity,which saves a lot of development time compared with traditional methods,and is conducive to the follow-up related research.It is of great significance to establish the database of children's head models and to develop and improve child safety seats with different human body characteristics.
