As an important tool in the field of vehicle crash safety research,human body finite element models are widely used in the occupant injury risk assessment and optimization design of vehicle restraint system.However,most of the existing human body finite element models are developed based on the fixed body shapes of western human bodies,which are difficult to reflect the effects of human body characteristic differences on the occupant injuries under the impact load,let alone accurately evaluate the biomechanical characteristics of Chinese human body.Based on Chinese human body scan data,a parametric human body surface finite element model that can reflect the characteristics of Chinese human body is established in this paper,which lays a foundation for the study of the influence of human body characteristic differences on the human body surface morphology and the development of the complete parametric human body finite element models.In this study,67 Chinese adult male samples with different ages,heights and BMIs were collected through the recruitment of volunteers.Through the correlation analysis of different human body characteristic parameters in the samples,it was found that the selected parameters can describe the basic features of Chinese adult male population well.At the same time,this study analyzed the distribution of sample on different human body characteristic parameters and compared them with the latest national anthropometric data.The results show that the obtained samples conform to the distribution rule of different human body characteristic parameters of Chinese adult male population,and the samples can basically reflect the human body characteristic differences of Chinese adult male population.According to the contents of Surface Anatomy,62 surface landmarks were determined for the mesh mapping transformation in the development of parametric human body surface models.By 3D scanning of human body,the human body surface point cloud data of the target samples under the driving and standing posture are obtained,which can be used to develop the human body finite element model of the vehicle occupant and pedestrian.By cleaning and repairing the scanning data of the human body surface,the complete and smooth geometric model of the target human body surface was established.This study presents a method of establishing parametric human body surface models based on grid mesh morphing and regression analysis.Based on THUMS models,two kinds of baseline human body surface mesh models under different postures are established by attitude adjustment and the extraction of skin mesh and coordinates of surface landmarks.Moreover,this study proposes a mesh morphing method based on RBF and KNN search.The mesh models with target human body surface geometric features are obtained through the mesh mapping transformation of the baseline human body surface mesh models.The results of the mesh morphing error analysis show that the baseline human body surface mesh and the target human body surface geometry have a good fitting effect.The symmetrical human body surface mesh models are obtained by means of symmetry processing,and the mesh quality are improved.The method of GPA was used to calibrate the spatial position of the human body surface mesh models of all samples to make their spatial posture more consistent.The prediction models of two kinds of postures human body surface are established through principal component analysis and regression analysis,and the accuracy of the prediction models are verified.The results show that the prediction models can accurately predict the human body surface models with specified human body characteristic parameters.Finally,a group of human body surface finite element models with different human body characteristics are generated by the established prediction models,and the effects of different human body characteristic parameters on human body surface morphology are analyzed.
