There are three friction pairs in the vane pump, including the sliding friction of the rotor on the surface of the valve plate, the sliding friction of the vane sliding along the radial direction in the rotor slot, and the scraping of the vane top on the inner surface of the stator along the circumferential direction. In the actual working fluid of intravane type pump, various impurities are often accompanied, these impurities play the role of abrasive grains, which accelerate the friction and wear between the friction pairs. In serious cases, the vane pump fails to work normally. The friction Characteristics of the friction pairs of intra-vane type pump were studied by combining theoretical analysis with experimental method.Firstly,a friction and wear test system of the friction pair of the vane pump is designed. In order to analyze the effect of vanes on the friction and wear of friction pairs,it was studied from the two aspects of installing vane and non-installing vane in rotor slot as a test comparison. The influence of the rotor sliding speed and contact pressure on the friction pair of vane pump under the environment without abrasive grains in the oil is studied, which provides a theoretical basis for vane pump to develop towards high-speed and high-pressure direction;then, the friction characteristics of the friction pair of vane pump were studied with the abrasive diameter and the abrasive concentration under the environment of containing abrasive grains in the oil,it has a certain guiding significance for improving the cleanliness of oil and setting the indexes of vane pump. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The influence of sliding speed on friction pairs: Whether or not installing vanes, with the increase of the sliding speed, the friction coefficient of the friction pair increases and the wear rate decreases. When the sliding speed increases, the influence proportion of the vane to the friction coefficient increases, and the influence on the wear rate is small. The wear mechanism of the valve plate is mainly mechanical furrow.(2)The influence of contact pressure on friction pairs: Whether or not installing vanes, with the increase of the contact pressure, the friction coefficient of the friction pair decreases and the wear rate increases. When the contact pressure increases, the influence proportion of the vane to the friction coefficient decreases, and the influence on the wear rate is small. The wear mechanism of the valve plate is mainly mechanical furrow and adhesion wear.(3)The influence of abrasive diameter on friction pairs: In non-installing vane cases, the friction coefficient of the friction pair increases first and then decreases with the increase of the abrasive diameter, and there is no obvious running in process. In installing vane cases, the comprehensive friction coefficient increases gradually with the increase of the abrasive diameter and exist running in process.Whether or not installing vanes, with the increase of wear particle diameter, the wear of valve plate first increases and then decreases. The wear of valve plate not only includes the impact of scraping wear, but also the abrasive wear and slightly adhesive wear caused by abrasive grains.(4)The influence of abrasive concentration on friction pairs: The friction coefficient of the friction pair decreases with the increase of the particle concentration without installing vanes, and there is no obvious running in process. The wear rate of the valve plate and the particle concentration are approximately linear relationship. The comprehensive friction coefficient increases with the increase of abrasive concentration in the case of installing vanes and have obvious running in process. The wear of valve plate not only includes the impact of scraping wear, but also the abrasive wear and slightly adhesive wear caused by abrasive grains.
