The public transport fare strategy has a profound impact on the passenger flow distribution of public transport. With the rapid development of urban public transportation, how to formulate a reasonable fare strategy to control the reasonable distribution of passenger traffic and increase the revenue of the subway has become a concern of many urban transportation departments in the world. The public transportation in major cities in China is in the process of rapid development. The current fare mechanism of public transportation is relatively simple, and it is difficult to meet the needs of large cities in China in the future. The development of diversified public transportation fare strategy is the future trend. As one of the world's largest cities,London has pioneered the “MTR Zone Fare + Bus Free” fare strategy for public transport fare strategy(for travel card users only),which has achieved good results and has been used for many years. This paper takes London City,a relatively mature public transport development,as a case study, and analyzes the impact of London's public transport fare strategy on passenger travel mode choice behavior. The main research in this paper is for users of the City of London who use travel cards to travel.First,a sample of 300,000 passengers was randomly sampled from the subway + bus credit card data of 8 working days in London as a sample of the experiment. In order to accurately extract the passenger's travel chain information from the credit card record, based on the standard transfer time comparison method proposed in the previous research method, this paper accurately combines the bus line data and the bus operation speed data to successfully estimate The passengers take the bus stop and the bus time to get the passenger's complete travel information. The passenger's travel chain data is extracted by comparing the time interval between the standard transfer time and the travel record.Furthermore,by calculating the spatial geographic information of the passenger travel chain OD,the similar characteristics between the travel chains in all the travel chain sets of the passenger's 8-day workday are obtained. After a series of reasonable calculations,a total of 605,353 travel chains were obtained,of which the number of travel chains in Zone 1 was 359,442,accounting for 59% of the total. The travel chain data is used to gradually analyze the impact of fare strategy on passenger travel mode selection.First, the overall data is modeled by MNL to obtain the influence of different factors on passenger travel mode selection.Secondly, the MNL modeling results of the travel chains in Zone 1 and Zone 2-3 are further analyzed. Finally, calculate the travel ratio of the bus links in different regions in the reasonable interval of different travel cards.Through the threestage modeling calculation, the analysis shows that the passengers prefer to take the subway between the reasonable boarding areas of their travel cards, and the bus is outside the reasonable boarding range. And the proportion of passengers taking the bus in the central area is greater than other areas. For the first time, this article studies the impact of London fare strategy on passengers' public transport mode selection behavior based on smart card data, and provides scientific and reasonable theoretical support for the future development of more reasonable and diversified fare strategies in China.
