The transportation system provides important support for the development of urban space.Urban public transit is a core component of the urban transport system.Efficient public transit systems can improve urban operating efficiency,alleviate urban diseases such as traffic congestion and pollution.Enhancing the attractiveness of public transport is an important means for the development of urban public transit.Travel expenses,travel time and travel experience(such as crowdedness of carriages)are the main considerations for residents when desiding their way to travel.And these factors are also the key elements of the quality and attractiveness of public transport.Therefore,the values of time and comfort play an important role in demand forecasting,fare formu lation,project evaluation,and behavior research.This paper uses Beijing public transportation smart card data to measure the time value and comfort(crowdedness of carriages)value of public transport travel.Based on this,it analyzes the behavioral me chanisms of these two key factors that affect the quality of public transport in order to effectively improve the attractiveness of public transport,and provide important quantitative reference for public transportation project planning,policy making and policy assessment.The paper starts with the impact of travel time and comfort on travel behavior,summarizes the relevant theories and economic mechanisms of the impact,and refers to existing research to establish framework and empirical model based on public transport smart card data to analyze travel time value and comfort value.Afterwards,the public transport smart card data was cleaned and processed to construct the metrics of travel time and c omfort needed for the empirical model,and on this basis,empirical estimates of the value of time value and cabin congestion were made.Then perform heterogeneity analysis by identifying travel characteristics and traveler characteristics using smart card data.Finally,through the above-mentioned demonstration,the existing theoretical model is verified,and the application of time value and c omfort value in traveler welfare calculation and policy evaluation is simulated,and further research proposals are proposed.The conclusions of the dissertation include:(1)The increase in expenses,length of travel time,and crowdedness of carriages will bring negative effects to travel and reduce the willingness of people to choose the travel plan.(2)Travel time value is approximately 4.81-5.42 Yuan per hour,the comfort value is about 0.08 Yuan/(person/square meter*per trip)or 0.01 yuan/(person/square meter*km);or when the crowding degree rises from 0 to 5 person/square meter the time multiplier is 1.36.Time value and comfort value among commutes,rush hour,and short-distance people are higher.(3)Time value and comfort value have a significant impact on the choice of plans for transportation planning and housing planning,and needed to be included in the analysis of planning policies.The related suggestions of the thesis include:(1)Time and comfort(carriage congestion)in travel have a significant impact on people's travel decisions and should be considered in relevant behaviors studies and analyze according to the heterogeneity of actual situations.(2)When designing and evaluating transportation planning and housing policies,it is necessary to contain the analysis of the value of travel time and the value of comfort.(3)Big data should be used in urban construction management and research to enrich and supplement the analysis using traditional data.
