The safe and stable operation of large generators play an important role in the power grid.And generator rotor grounding protection is an important protection of generator rotor.When the rotor ground two points,it will cause irreparable damage to the generator,and endanger the security and stability of power grid,so the research of the generator rotor grounding protection is very important.In recent years,the injection square wave voltage protection is one of the most advanced rotor grounding protections all over the world.It has been widely used in domestic large generator sets.In this paper,the characteristics of injection square wave voltage protection are analyzed theoretically,and some optimization suggestions are put forward.Through the test and calculation,the ABB type UNS3020 a rotor grounding protection which was more used in China is analyzed and the necessity of replacing the protection is explained.Analyze the principle and field operation characteristics of NARI RCS-985 integrated rotor grounding protection,and puts forward the optimization scheme in field operation of the protection,part of the program has been implemented,and the normal operation of stability.At last,the necessity of using RSO method to detect the interturn insulation of the rotor is explained.
