Nowadays,global economy is gradually recovering,yet still facing increasing pressure from many uncertain factors.China is bucking the trend and vigorously promoting the implementation of the “Belt and Road” Initiative and the “Go globally” strategy,which provides good development opportunities for the Chinese enterprises.As a core component in the “Belt and Road” Initiative,China's international contracting engineering enterprises are enjoying unprecedented market demand opportunities while encountering external resistance in expanding the international markets.Under these circumstances,it has become a critical issue in business management for those advocating enterprises aiming at fulfilling their social responsibilities and maintaining their sustainable development strategies.It is therefore important to explore the impact of Corporate Social Responsibility management on corporate competitiveness.Unfortunately,very little research has been conducted in China in this field.Therefore,the author of this dissertation conducts a research with the high-rank internationalization and CSR international contracting engineering companies to explore the relationship between Corporate Social Responsibility management and corporate competitiveness.This paper firstly reviews domestic and foreign research literature on the evaluation of corporate competitiveness,the impact of CSR on corporate competitiveness,and the mechanism of CSR on competitiveness,and further reviews the operating characteristics of China's international contracting engineering companies and the status of social responsibility fulfillment.Afterwards,the author selects the performance of social responsibility of each of the 15 listed companies with international contracted projects during the period of 2013-2018 and the competitiveness indicators of various companies.Based on the factor analysis,the comprehensive evaluation value of corporate competitiveness is employed as the dependent variable while Corporate Social Responsibility Performance is used as an independent variable.It also analyzes the impact of three important dimensions of employees,government,and technological innovation responsibilities on corporate competitiveness.The corporate age,enterprise size,and internationalization are then employed as control variables to establish a regression model.Based on the strategic management theory of the Core Competence of the Corporation and the characteristics of corporate competitiveness evaluation,this dissertation selects eight indicators from three dimensions: scale,efficiency,and growth to build a corporate competitiveness evaluation index system.Furthermore,SPSS23.0 software is utilized to do a factor analysis and calculate the weights of each evaluation index and all dimensions.The comprehensive evaluation value of the competitiveness of each enterprise are then achieved.Consequently,a Stata 14.0 software is used to perform a multiple linear regression analysis on the relationship between the RKS Score and the evaluation of corporate competitiveness of those listed companies.The empirical research indicates that there is a strong positive impact of Corporate Social Responsibility on the current competitiveness of the company as well as a significant positive correlation with the future competitiveness of the companies in 1-4 years,though employees,government and technological innovation responsibilities have a negative impact on the corporate competitiveness.CSR can generate returns and carries out a time-varying effect on the performance.Finally,based upon the empirical results and research conclusions,the dissertation proposes the countermeasures and suggestions for Chinese companies to explore the international project contracting markets from the perspectives of the relationship between CSR and corporate competitiveness,CSR management and resource integration,corporate human resources management,corporate ecological construction and value identification and so forth.
