The development of the Internet of Vehicles makes cyber security a hot issue in the construction of intelligent transportation and the smart city. The deployment of the platoon can ease traffic congestion, reduce traffic accidents, and improve fuel efficiency. However, due to the high mobility of vehicles and the frequent changes in the network structure, the Internet of Vehicles has to deal with various cyber-attacks and security risks.Meanwhile, due to the complexity of the platoon traffic, multiple types of information are involved, including identities, vehicle types, routes, and other private data. Therefore,it is necessary to design a complete information security protection scheme from diverse scenarios of the platoon.According to the actual security requirements, this paper studies and implements the connected platoon information security protection scheme based on Long-Term Evolution for Vehicle-to-Everything(LTE-V2X).The purpose is to protect users' privacy against cyber-attacks,including the confidentiality and the integrity of data. The LTE-V2X standard led by the 3rd Generation Partner Project(3 GPP)and the white paper on LTE-V2X security technology completed by International Mobile Telecommunications-2020 Cellular-V2X(C-V2X)group provide a solid foundation for the information security of the connected platoon.Firstly,an anonymous platoon formation method based on attribute matching is designed in this paper. After matching the access control structure,a platoon can be successfully organized without disclosing any real identity or location information. Then, the three-party authentication is conducted among the platoon,Road Side Units(RSUs),and the Trusted Authority in order to verify the source of information.Through theoretical security analysis and comparison of operation time, the information security and efficiency of the scheme are verified. When the old platoon members leave the platoon or the freshers join in the platoon, this paper designs and analyses a key update scheme based on the shared public key without the Trusted Authority. It could ensure the forward and backward security of the key after bidirectional authentication and also defense against man-in-the-middle attack, forgery attack, etc. The proposed scheme is verified by simulation, including three aspects:the platoon formation based on attribute-based encryption, the platoon batch authentication based on the Trusted Authority, and the signature of public key based on dynamic changes of platoon members. The total delay of the security scheme is evaluated.Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed information security scheme in maintaining the stability and the collision avoidance safety of the platoon, which is of practical significance and value for the deployment of the connected platoon.
