At present,rolling processing technology is widely used in the production and manufacturing of steel rims.The traditional processing methods are mostly based on experience design.Trial and error method is used to produce trial production parts and constantly improve the processing technology,resulting in high production cost and long design cycle,which is not conducive to the development of new products.With the development of computer-aided engineering,the introduction of finite element numerical simulation technology in rolling process can not only predict the simulation forming quality,but also analyze and optimize the simulation results,which greatly improves the design efficiency and reliability of products.In this paper,an alloy steel steel rims are simulated by finite element method.The deformation information of each pass rolling process and the influence of different process parameters on forming quality are analyzed.Firstly,the working principle and deformation theory of rim rolling process are analyzed.The material properties of an alloy steel are obtained through the tensile test.The key parameters of the simulation model are set and debugged with the elastic-plastic finite element theory,and a reliable modeling method is finally determined.Secondly,the finite element model of rim was simulated by using the software of simufact forming.The distribution of stress and strain,the springback of workpiece unloading,the rule of material flow,the change of forming thickness and the analysis of defects were studied,and the accuracy of simulation analysis was verified by comparing with the actual thickness of workpiece.Thirdly,the influence of different process parameters(friction coefficient,feed speed,roller speed)on the forming quality was studied,and the single parameter method was used to analyze and optimize the process parameters,and the reasonable combination of process parameters was obtained.After optimization,the rim thinning rate was 9.2%,which was 2.7% lower than the actual thickness reduction of 11.9%,and the forming quality was improved.Finally,the research on the simulation analysis of rim rolling is summarized,and the future research is put forward.
