The altitude different country areas,soil ecotype areas,altitude and groups was analyzed in this paper which based on flue-cured tobacco samples of 896 in 4 tobacco countries of Qujing.The changing characteristics of flue-cured tobacco's appearance quality,physical characteristics,chemical components and smoking quality were also studied among different groups under different altitude,and so did the relationship between altitude and tobacco quality.Main results were showed as follows:1.The altitude of Qujing tobacco-growing areas could be divided into low altitude(?1500m),middle altitude(1500~2000m)and high altitude(?2000m),according to the source of climate data.Quantitative characteristics of climate factors were analyzed by difference analysis among the different altitudes,and the result showed that: the low altitude,middle altitude and high altitude had significant differences at 5% level.The sunshine hours and relative humidity had significant differences among different altitudes,middle altitude and high altitude,low altitude and high altitude all had significant differences,but differences of middle altitude and high altitude did not reach significant levels.Rainfall also had remarkable differences among different altitudes,and differences between low altitude and middle altitude,middle altitude and high altitude,low altitude and high altitude all reached 5% level.2.Analysis the quality characteristics of flue-cured tobacco on different altitude conditions using descriptive statistics and cluster analysis.In terms of appearance quality of the flue-cured tobacco,maturity score had reached a significant level of difference,color,oil content,chromaticity and scoring structure were different between the different elevation,identity score was not significant.In terms of physical characteristics of flue-cured tobacco,leaf length,leaf width had reached a significant level of difference,leaf weight,leaf area density,filling were different between the different elevation,,including infarction rate and the equilibrium moisture content between different elevation were not significan.In terms of chemical components of flue-cured tobacco,total nitrogen,nicotine,petroleum ether extract content,phosphorus,calcium,magnesium,iron,boron,chlorogenic acid and volatile alkali content had reached an extremely significant level of difference,total sugar,copper,zinc,manganese content of volatile acid were different between the different elevation,reducing sugar,potassium,water-soluble chloride,starch content,sulfur and molybdenum,belladonna pavilion,rutin content were not significant.In terms of sensory quality of flue-cured tobacco,Smoking aroma quality,stimulating,aftertaste,gray,characteristics of total quality,strength,scent and conglobation,sweetness had reached an extremely significant differences between the different elevation,aroma,concentration of mixed gas,combustibility and score were different between different altitude,flue-cured tobacco leaves dry feeling,soft score were not different.3.The relationship between altitude and the quality characteristics of flue-cured tobacco was studied by the method of regression analysis.Altitude had a highly significant positive regression relationship with chroma,had a highly significant negative regression relationship with oil content score,and the regression relationship with other tobacco appearance quality was not significant.Altitude had a significant negative regression relationship with leaf length,leaf width,stem content and leaf density,and the regression relationship with other physical properties was not significant.Altitude had a highly significant positive regression relationship with the reducing sugar/nicotine,had a significant positive regression relationship with total sugar,reducing sugar,rutin content,had a highly significant negative regression relationship with total nitrogen,nicotine,potassium and petroleum ether extract,volatile alkali,and the regression relationship with other chemical composition was not significant.Altitude had a highly significant positive regression relationship with irritancy,strength score,had a highly significant negative regression relationship with total score,dry sense score,had a significant negative regression relationship with tobacco combustibility,sweetness,soft,and the regression relationship with other sensory quality characteristics was not significant.4.Under the different elevation compared the quality of yunyan 85 with the other main flue-cured tobacco varieties' quality characteristics was analyzed.The appearance of the flue-cured tobacco was analyzed,results indicated that the appearance quality score of yunyan 85 was significantly higher than other varieties.Maturity,oil content and chromaticity of yunyan 85 got the highest score,K326 got the lowest score.The content of flue-cured tobacco chemical composition was analyzed,results indicated that total sugar,nicotine,chlorine,calcium,manganese content were not significant between the five varieties.Total sugar,reducing sugar,the ratio of reducing sugar and total sugar,potassium,magnesium,copper,iron,hyoscyamus Niger pavilion,volatile alkali content of yunyan 85 had the highest content The total nitrogen,rutin content of yunyan 87 was significantly higher than other varieties.Petroleum ether extract,molybdenum and chlorogenic acid of Hongda had the highest content,yunyan 85 took second place.Volatile acid of K326 and yunyan 85 were significantly higher than other varieties.The physical characteristics of flue-cured tobacco was analyzed,results indicated that the weight of leaf was not significant between the five varieties.The length of leaf and equilibrium moisture content of yunyan 97 had the highest content,yunyan 85 took second place.Hongda had the maximum leaf width,yunyan85 took second place,the leaf width of Hongda was significantly higher than Yunyan87,Yunyan 97 and K326.The stem ratio of Yunyan87 was highest,it was significantly higher than the Yunyan85,K326 and Hongda.The leaf density of K326 was highest,Yunyan85 was the second.The filling Values of Yunyan85 had the highest value,it was significantly higher than other varieties.The sensory quality of flue-cured tobacco was analyzed,the mixed gas,gray,quality characteristics of the total score,strength,flavor styles,clustering,dryness,sweetness and soft nature of Yunyan85 had the highest score.About fragrant temperament,Hongda had the highest score,followed by yunyan 85,they were significantly higher than yunyan 87 and yunyan97.The aroma and irritation of K326 had the highest score.The aftertaste of Hongda had the highest score,followed by yunyan 85,the difference between the two was not significant.The burning of yunyan 97 had the highest score,Hongda was the second,they were significantly higher than yunyan 87.
