Phenols is an important group of functional compounds which play a vital role in the quality of the grape and wine.Vitis davidii Fo?x.(Spine grape)is a Chinese unique wild grape resource, which has the potential to possess a better adaptability, cultivation, processing and utilization. On the base of preliminary resource collection and screening of the collected 970 wild grape vines,71 representative grape vines have been examined in regard to their polyphenol properties. Moreover, understanding the distribution of the phenolic compounds 71 grape vines were classified, which provides a prospect and a reference of the comprehensive utilization of wild spine grape resources. The main results are as follows:(1)71 grape vines: Soluble solids were in the range of 6.24~15.40 °Brix;Total acid content were in the range of 2.52~5.68 g/L;pH value were in the range of 3.27~4.68.The difference among different strains of these three variables was not obvious;(2)71 grape vines: Total phenol content was in the range of 15.17~99.91 mg/g;Total anthocyanin content was in the range of 0.19~48.68 mg/g;Total tannin content was in the range of 0.35~23.31 mg/g;Total flavonoid content was in the range of 0~35.82 mg/g;Total flavanol content was in the range of 0~4.60 mg/g.The difference among different strains of these five parameters was significant.(3)Withthe help of ultra-high performance liquid chromatography(UPLC),17 different types of non-anthocyanins polyphenols monomer content were determined. The results showed that: Flavanols content was in the range of 0~14.74 mg/kg;Flavonols content was in the range of 1.62~63.75 mg/kg;Hydroxybenzoix acid content was in the range of 0~72.75 mg/kg;Hydroxycinnamic acid content was in the range of 3.14~68.53 mg/kg;Stilbene compound content was in the range of 0.36~4.07 mg/kg.The content of 17 kinds of non-anthocyanin polyphenols monomers among different strains was significantly different.(4)According to the eight kinds of fruit quality indices(soluble solids, total acid,pH,total phenol, total flavonoids, total flavanols, total tannins, total anthocyanin),the test results for all samples cluster analysis showed that the 71 grape vines could be divided into three categories(class A,class B,class C),where class A contained three subclasses(ⅰ type,ⅱ type,ⅲ class).(5)In accordance with the detection result of 17 kinds non-anthocyanins polyphenols monomers and the cluster analysis, the 71 grape vines could be divided into two categories(Class A and Class B),where class A contained two subclasses(Ⅰ type andⅡ type). However,Ⅱ type could be divided into two subclasses(ⅰ type and ⅱ class).Class B consisted of two subclasses(ⅲ type and ⅳ type).Generally, the maximum content of these compounds was salicylic acid, followed by coumarin. However the contents of caffeic acid, quercetin and morin were relatively high.In addition, the content of gallic acid, benzoic acid, kaempferol and tangeretin were the least among all the non-anthocyanins polyphenols monomers.
