Diospyros lotus L.is a kind of deciduous trees,which belongs to Ebenaceae geniusDiospyros L.family and is a kind of important non-timber forest in China.As the important rootstock of Diospyros Kaki L,Diospyros lotus L can effect the adaptation,resistance and tree vigour of Diospyros Kaki L.Taking measures to intensify research effort and creating more favorable conditions to improve the growth conditions are very significant.In recent years,more and more people pay close attention to the plant growth promoting of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi.But there was no systematic research about the growth,morphological characteristics,Physiological and biochemi-cal indexes of Diospyros lotus L.In order to investigate the effect of inoculating arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi on the growth of Diospyros lotus L.seedling and provide references for the development of Diospyros spp.industry,in this study the Diospyros lotus L.seedlings which were inoculated by Acaulospora scrobiculata(AS),Rhizophagus aggregatus(RA),Diversispora trotuosa(DT),Rhizopha-gus intraradices(RI),Funneliformis mosseae(FM)were used to study the effects.The main results are as follows:(1)Different inoculations made very significant differences of effects on the growth indices.Compared with the CK(blank control),the inoculations improved the growth indices,but there were differences within the inoculations.Diflerent inoculations showed good agreement in terms of the growth indices such as biomass,hight,diameter,and the RA,AS,FM played better roles in the area than Rl and DT.(2)Different inoculations made very significant differences of effects on the photosynthesis.Compared with CK the five inoculations all improved the net photosynthetic rate,the light saturation point,the daily average net photosynthetic rate,but reduced the light compensation point.(3)Different inoculations made very significant differences of effects on the chlorophyll contents.At the thirtieth day there wasn,t difference within the six treatments.But as time went on,compared with CK the five inoculations all improved the eontents of chlorophyll and the gaps were more and more obvious.(4)Different inoculations made very significant differences of effects on the contents of soluble sugar,soluble protein and starch which were respectively extracted from the root,the phloem and the xylem.The contents of soluble sugar,soluble protein and starch followed the law that there were most soluble sugar,soluble protein and starch in root,the second were in phloem and the lowest were in xylem.With comprehensive consideration,the promotions of five inoculations to growth of the three physical signs were different,but the five inoculations followed the law that the promoting effects of RA,AS and FM were stronger than the promoting effects of DT and RI.(5)Different inoculations made very significant differenees of effects on the root activity.Compared with CK,the five inoculations but DT all improved the activity of root.(6)Different inoculations made very significant differences of effects on the absorptive capacity of nitrogen,phosphorus and kalium.Compared with CK,the five inoculations all had higher concentrations of phosphorus and kalium in different tissues,but they didn't improve but reduced the concentrations of nitrogen which existing in roots and stems.Comparing the nitrogen concentration in the same processing but different tissues and organs of the seedlings,there were higher nitrogen concentrations in the leaves than other tissues which were inoculated by the five kinds of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi,but there were lower nitrogen concentrations in the leaves than other tissues which weren't inoculated by arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi.And the absorption of nitrogen,phosphorus and kalium increase obviously.(7)Different inoculations made very significant differences of effects on the root morphology.They increased or enlarged the indexes such as the root length,root surface area,root volume,root tips,but the root thickening.The mycorrhizal seedlings markedly increased the indexes which the root width ranged from Omm to 2.0mm.And because of the length,superficial area and projected area et al.of the root which the width ranged from Omm to 2.0mm accounted for more than 50%of the total index,we could say that the arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi affected root morphology by affecting the root which the width ranged from Omm to 2.0mm.(8)Different inoculations made very significant differences of effects on the stomatal density and morphology(such as the size and opening value of stomata)in upper epidermis of leaves.The five inoculations but DT had increased the density,length width and opening value of stoma,but they didn't significantly affect the thickness of the stomatal guard cells.
