Wireless sensor network(WSN)is made up of static or mobile sensor nodes,which form a wireless network in a self-organization and multiple hops way.For the perceived object information within its covered geographical area,its perception,collection,transmission and processing are collaboratively conducted.Finally,all these information are sent to the network owner.There are many rivers and lakes in Hunan province.The rich water resource makes its aquaculture industry widely-developed.In recent years,our country is vigorously promoting the informatization of agriculture and aquaculture.However,the informatization of aquaculture is relatively falling behind other industries.At present,aquaculture is mostly in a traditional breeding way.That is,the monitoring of water quality depends on the human experience.The low level or even no informatization leads to the warning of water deterioration and its prevention not prompt.This will decrease the production,which brings serious economic losses to the farmers.To address this issue,this thesis researches on a WSN-based real-time water quality monitoring system for aquaculture.The goal of this system is to online monitor the water quality for aquaculture with real-time performance.It reliably transmits the water quality data via wireless communication,and promptly analyzes the received data.If there is any problem,it can promptly give an early warning.Moreover,it can store and index the data in a visualization way.A WSN-based water quality monitoring system is implemented in this thesis.After a brief introduction of its architecture and nodes distribution,emphasis is putting on the online gathering of key parameters of aquaculture,which includes PH value,temperature,level of water and dissolved oxygen value.In data transmission,mainly adopts the way of ad-hoc network ZigBee wireless transmission technology,the Modbus protocol of GPRS wireless communication technology,TCP communications based Socket programming,etc.The gathered data is transmitted to server via GPRS wireless communication.In addition,the use of MFC class library implements the development of PC software,using ADO technology to implement the access and operation of database,the SMS hardware module driver programming implement automatic warning of abnormal data,send warning message to farmers in the mobile phone.The developed system is tested in the experimental environment,and it is also test in the practical application.Experimental results show that the proposed approach has good universality and real-time performance,and it can achieve the anticipated goal of stability.Therefore,it has nice application potential.
