The Study Of Composition Analysis And Biological Activity Of Essential Oils From Litsea Cubeba Male And Female Flowers

Litsea cubeba belongs to the genus Litsea in the Lauraceae family.It is an important aromatic plant of China.For the research of Litsea cubeba mainly concentrated in the fruit essential oil composition analysis purification and determination of biological activity,etc.But the research of Litsea cubeba flower is less.In this study,Litsea cubeba female and male flower oils were extracted respectively by steam distillation.Furthermore,the chemical composition,antioxidant activity,antibacterial activity,anti-quorum sensing activity of Litsea cubeba female and male flower oils have been done respectively in this study.The results are as follows:1.The gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS)was used to identify the compounds of Litsea cubeba flower oils.A total of 47 and 43 compounds were identified in female and male flower oils respectively.Compounds in the high content in female and male flower oils include ?-Phellandrene,Limonene,Eucalyptol,?-pinene,?-pinene,Terpineol,4-Carvomenthenol,Alpha-Terpineol,and Terpinyl acetate.2.The antioxidant activities of Litsea cubeba flower oils were determined by different assays in this study.The results showed that antioxidant activity of female flower oils of Litsea cubeba is stronger than male flower oils.And at low oil concentration,the antioxidant activity was weak,along with the increase of oil concentration,the antioxidant activity was also enhanced.3.Essential oils from both female and male flowers have shown a strong antibacterial activity against all six tested bacteria.Inhibitory effect on these types of bacteria,Staphylococcus aureus>Bacillus subtilis>Pseudomonas aeruginosa>Escherichia coli>Serratia marcescens MG1=S.marcescens H30.Furthermore,the Litsea cubeba flower oils showed a function in interrupting the process of S.marcescens H30 colonies to develop the bright red color during the culture period.4.The Litsea cubeba flower essential oils have a strong inhibitory effect angainst the gram-negative bacteria quorum-sensing system,can reduce the production of purple pigment of Purple bacterium CV026,also can inhibit the biofilm formation and bacterial swarming motility of Pseudomonas aeruginosa,inhibition rate is 67.41%and 50.27%of Litsea cubeba female and male flower oils respectively.
