Effects Of Different Plant Wastes Compost Tea On Cucumber Growth And Physiology

As a widely used foliar fertilizer nutrient,compost tea,refers to the extraction liquid by using composted material through different methods.Researches on compost tea made by plant wastes are very limited till now and the reports on plant compost tea as the nutrient solution for cucumber(Cucumis sativus L.)are rarely seen.In this study,different plant wastes(wheat straw,rape straw,garlic straw,bluegrass and creeping oxalis)were used to make compost tea with add of Effective Microorganisms(EM)fungi.The effects of the compost tea as nutrient solution compared with Hoagland nutrient solution,as foliar fertilizer and as complex nutrient solution with different proportions to Hoagland nutrient solution on cucumber growth and physiological characteristics were tested to Screen suitable compost tea,compost tea foliar fertilizer and complex nutrient solution for cucumber under soilless culture and to provide more technical guidence to nutrient solution management under soilless cultivation.1.As a kind of soilless cultivation nutrient solution,its promoting effect of pure compost tea made by different plant wastes was much worse that that of Hoagland nutrient solution.The nutrient contained in pure compost tea can not meet the requirements of cucumber growth and developmen.On the contrary,it will inhibit the growth of cucumber plants in activity of root and photosynthetic efficiency and make it can not reach the expectation of high yield and quality of cucumber.Therefore,this 5 kinds of plant compost teas can not replace Hoagland nutrient solution as the nutrient solution for cucumber growth,but the promoting effect of bluegrass compost tea on cucumber growth and development was better than other compost tea treatments.2.Spraying compost tea foliar fertilizer made by different plant wastes can effect the growth and development of cucumber in soilless cultivation system.Spraying bluegrass compost tea foliar fertilizer can promote the morphology of cucumber.Compared with CK,the root activity,chlorophyll content,soluble protein,soluble sugar,Vitamin C content and yield of cucumber were increased by 9.8%,41.6%,13.0%,39.9%,60.6% and 13.6%,respectively,and ultimately achieve the purpose of high yield and quality.So,it was the most suitable compost tea foliar fertilizer on cucumber growth and development.3.Different proportions of bluegrass compost tea and Hoagland nutrient solution were displayed significant effect on cucumber growth and development in soilless cultivation system.Compared with Hoagland nutrient solution.The complex nutrient solution made by bluegrass and Hoagland nutrient solution in a 1:2 proportion made the root activity,net photosynthetic efficiency,soluble sugar,vitamin C content and yield of cucumber increased by 71.21%,72.16%,69.36%,20.16% and 10.63%,respectively.High proportion of compost tea in complex nutrient solution can inhibit the growth and development of cucumber.
