Plant Species Composition And Ecological Culture Of Urban Green Space

Plant species composition in urban green spaces reflects the natural environment background,human management and cultural connotation of a city.The plant species of green spaces in Kunming City was studied,based on the field data collected by route survey records from 9 university campuses and 13 public parks,with a total area of 1169.93 hm2.It was recorded a total of 152 families,471 genus and 762 species of vascular plants,including 649 species in the campuses and 374 species in the parks.In terms of growth form,the trees,herbs,shrubs,vines and bamboos were respectively accorded for 28.48%,21.00%,45.67%,3.41%and 1.44%,Proportion of trees in the parks(33.69%)was higher than that in the campuses(28.35%),it went down to the lowest(27.47%)in the new campuses.In terms of species origin,the proportion of exotic plants in the total species,campus species and park species were 39.89%,39.32%and 41.20%,respectively.Urban green spaces construction led the increase of the tropical composition and the decrease of the temperate composition.At the beginning of 2016,the heavy snowfall caused 68 families,122 genus,171 species of plants were affected by different grades of freezing injury,accounting for 22.44%of the total.The frozen plants are mainly tropical plants,accounting for 70.76%of the total,and exotic plants accounting for 48.54%,9 species of endangered plants,accounting for 36.00%of all rare and endangered plants,the reason is probably due to tropical plants have higher ornamental value.Different plants constitute a landscape of different values and aesthetic orientation,and now the ecological culture of plants in city compared to the past has undergone many changes,green building bias in the external ornamental of plants,a large number of introduction of exotic plants,including a variety of beautiful tropical plants with special shape,lack of scientific understanding of plants and ecosystems,leading to serious ecological disasters,but also ignores the rich traditional ecological cultural connotation in plants.In fact,many traditional ecological cultural ideas not only benefit from social development,but also conducive to maintenance of ecosystem.Urban greening usually selects adaptable and beautiful plants.There are 588 species of ornamental plants in the study area,of which 343(58.33%)are planted and there are many plants with religious beliefs,including Pinaceae,Cupressaceae,Bambusoideae,Ficus,Rhododendron,Salix and 49 other plants that help the city to form and promote protecting consciousness to plants,but in addition to Tanhua Temple,the other green spaces are difficult to feel the traditional cultural connotation.In addition,171 kinds of frozen plants,there are 164 species of ornamental plants,such as Ficus spp.,with elegant atmosphere and meaning evergreen,respected by the audience,but is not suitable for large-scale cultivation in Kunming.Therefore,based on the correct scientific understanding,analyzing the relationship between plant ecological culture and plant community in urban green spaces,and systematically cognizing plant ecological culture all play an important positive role,to optimize the allocation of plants in urban green spaces,protect local plant diversity,promote the sustainable development of urban green spaces and improve the urban living environment.
