Silage corn is a green crop, whose stems, leaves and ears can be used as feed for poultry and livestock after fermentatin.Strengthening the research on the breeding of silage corn can not only solve the current problem of insufficient production capacity of green crops, but also significantly increase the income of the famer in farming-pastoral ecotone, which has profound implications for the transformation of agriculture from quantitative growth to high-quality and high-efficiency growth. In this study,we selected 138 lines from a population of recombinant inbred lines?BC2F7-RIL?.The maize-teosinte BC2F7-RILs were constructed with teosinte as a donor and elite maize inbred lines Zong3 as a acceptor, these selected 138 lines were acrossed to 5 silage inbred lines.Furthermore, the phenotypic evaluation results of the biomass per plant and the 4biomass-related traits of the hybrids under different environments are showed as follows:1.A total of 138 lines were selected from the maize-teosinte BC2F7-RILs which were developed prevoiusly in our laboratory. These selected 138 lines were acrossed to 3 silage inbred lines and total of 263 hybrids were then obtained.Based on the phenotypes in the biomass and biomass-related traits, total of 28 hybrids showed high the biomass per plant, plant height, ear height, stem diameter and green leaf number per plant under two environments?Huang Gang and E Zhou?.2.The 28 hybrids with high biomass were devired from 20 BC2F7-RILs.Furthermore,the20 BC2F7-RILs were crossed to 4 silage maize inbred line,a total of 80 hybrids were obtained. There were 2 hybrids with higher biomass than control being screened:ZT70×HZ2 and ZT209×HZ2.3.The average plant height of ZT70×HZ2 and ZT209×HZ2 were 331.81cm and315.28cm,respectively,and the biomass per plant were 1.75 kg and 1.80 kg,respectively, which were 38.89%and 42.46%higher than the control?Yayu 8?,respectively.Both hybrids has an potential value as silage corn, and these 2 introgression lines from the selected hybrids can also provide excellent germplasm resources for the study of silage corn.
