In order to select the grape rootstocks which are suitable for the soil-burying over-wintering zones in the northwest of China,this study selected 13 species of grape rootstocks in 12 to study the germination in spring and leaves malondialdehyde content,leaves free proline content,leaves chlorophyll content,leaves temperature and leaves water potential were determined in the rootstocks leaves after 1,8,15,22,29 days under the condition of no winter pruning or soil-burying over-wintering,and the results showed that:1.Through the shoot shriveling investigation in spring,the shoot shriveling tolerance of Riparia,420Mgt,196-17,161-490 and 3309C were better than 41Bmg,101-14,44-53Ma,110R,Rupestris du Lot,SO4,1103P and 5BB.The shoot shriveling tolerance from strong to weak were:3309C>161-490>196-17>420Mgt>Riparia.2.To the 13 species of grape rootstocks,chlorophyll decomposed rapidly with drought stress,420Mgt,41Bmgt,3309C,161-409 decreased slowly.The content of free proline and malondialdehyde aggravated under drought stress.The content of free proline in 110R,44-53Ma and 41Bmgt leaves was high,and the content of malondialdehyde in 3309C and 101-14 leaves was low.The leaves chlorophyll content,leaves free proline and leaves malondialdehyde content showed that 41Bmgt and 3309C had higher drought resistance ability.3.1n conclusion,41Bmgt and 3309C had higher drought resistance ability,3309C had higher shoot shriveling tolerance.3309C had higher drought resistance ability and shoot shriveling tolerance,it is suitable for soil-burying over-wintering zones in northwest of China.
