Bactrocera fruit flies are serious pests that caused huge losses in fruits and vegetable production in recent years in Hongkong,China. This study monitored the population dynamic of Bactrocera spp.in New Territories,Hong Kong in 2010-2015 by sex pheromone trap. The results revealed the main species of Bactrocera spp.in Hong Kong and their population dynamic. The main results were as follows: 1.The main species of Bactrocera spp.in Hong KongThis investigation found four Bactrocera spp.including B.tau,B.(Zeugodacus)scutellatus,B.cucurbitae,B.dorsalis in Honkong, and B.tau and B.(Zeugodacus)scutellatus are the main species. The results showed that 52.19%-68.77% of trapped Bactrocera spp.are B.tau and 19.14%-35.08% of trapped Bactrocera spp.are B.(Zeugodacus)scutellatus per year. Both rate of trapped B.cucurbitae and B.dorsalis is less than 6.25% in the all trapped Bactrocera spp.per year.2.The population dynamic of Bactrocera spp.in Hong KongInvestigation showed that the population of B.tau and B.(Zeugodacus)scutellatus reach peak at June to August, the population of B.cucurbitae reach peak at March, and the population of B.dorsalis reach peak at September to October in Hong Kong. The results will establish the theoretical foundations on development of effective pest management strategy on Bactrocera spp.in Hong Kong.
