Muscovy Duck has the advantages of rich nutrition,high lean meat flavor,and high food value.It has always been favored by consumers in the poultry market in the South.After a long period of domestication,the Muscovy duck has become an excellent meat duck,but due to the short laying cycle of the Muscovy duck,the egg production rate in the late stage of the egg production drops significantly,so improving the hatching effect of Muscovy duck eggs has a positive effect on improving economic efficiency.Egg quality traits,especially the quality of eggs,are important economic traits for poultry breeding and production.Egg quality traits are a very important indicator in both breeding and commercial markets.In the production of modern muscovy ducks,the eggs themselves are required to have excellent internal quality and strong eggshells.The egg quality traits of eggs are important factors affecting hatching of eggs.In this study,N104strain Muscovy ducks from the Renma breeding duck farm of WENS Southern Poultry Breeding Co.,Ltd.(Yunfu,Guangdong Province,China)were selected as the research object.The egg quality traits of the 43-week-old breeder eggs were collected,measured,and recorded,and hatching tests were conducted.In this experiment,two indicators of egg weight and egg shape index are used to enter the hatching eggs for different groups to hatch.Calculate the average weight of the hatched eggs and the average egg shape index.According to the control variable method,collect the hatching eggs that are within the average egg shape index plus or minus standard deviation(total 540 eggs).According to the weight of the incubator,the weight is divided into less than the average weight of the incubating eggs minus the standard deviation,in the average weight plus or minus the standard deviation range and greater than the average weight plus the standard deviation three groups,and is divided into 1,2,and 3 group.Collect the hatching eggs(total 540 eggs)within the average weight plus or minus the standard deviation.According to the egg shape index of the incubating eggs,the average value is less than the mean value of the egg shape minus the standard deviation,and the mean value is added or minus the standard deviation range and greater than the average plus the standard deviation of the three groups,and divided into A,B,C three groups.Observe the hatching process in each period and record the specific hatching of the two test groups.From the test results,the egg weight and egg shape index have a greater impact on the late embryonic development;when the egg weight of the N104 strain ducklings is between 79.5g and 86.5g,the egg shape index ranges from1.33 to 1.39.The hatching effect of the test is best.In addition,the eggs of this strain were collected to estimate and analyze the genetic parameters of some of the egg quality traits,and the collected eggs were coded according to their parent's wing numbers.Measure its egg weight(EW),egg shape index(ESI),eggshell thickness(EST),eggshell strength(ESS),record the data and organize the data for analysis,estimate heritability according to its pedigree.The results showed that the estimated egg weight heritability of the N104 test eggs was EW(h~2=0.372±0.082),which was a medium heritability trait;the egg shape index ESI was(h~2=0.428±0.087),a high heritability trait;Intensity ESS is(h~2=0.192±0.062)and eggshell thickness EST is(h~2=0.029±0.041)low heritability traits.There was a significant positive genetic correlation between ESI and EST,and a positive genetic correlation between EW and ESI.In the production,the size of the EST can be controlled through the selection of ESI so as to improve the quality of the egg and improve the hatching effect.This experiment aims at summarizing the laws that are consistent with the actual production through the incubating test and the estimation of genetic parameters,and serves as a reference for the breeding work of Muscovy ducks.
