Research On Urban Forestry Development In Zhaoqing City

Urban forestry originated in North America in the 1960 s,when the urban forestry led by the United States represented the development direction of the world’s forestry,followed by the rapid development of the "near nature forestry" thought.With the advantages of fewer population and more lands,coupled with the strong economic backing,huge progress has been made in the development,R&D,and teaching of urban forestry abroad in the recent four or five decades.At present,with the rapid economic and social development in China,a series of urban ecological environment construction problems have become increasingly prominent,including: population surges,air pollution,water pollution,noise pollution,light pollution,and heat island effects.In this context,it is particularly important to improve the urban ecological environment,and more and more attention is paid to "urban forestry".Carrying out the "National Forest City" campaign plays an important role in spreading the urban forest concept and enhancing the status of urban forestry in urban construction,and it helps to establish a good city image.Taking urban forestry in Zhaoqing as the research object,this paper provides a multifaceted explanation for the related theoretical knowledge of urban forestry and the basic situation of forestry in Zhaoqing.Through literature review,statistical analysis and expert resources,the paper carries out analysis of the data in 14 fields,including urban green space coverage rate,urban park green land per capita,urban arborvitae tree planting,urban street afforestation,urban parking lot afforestation,the basic ideas for forest health construction,forest structure features,biodiversity and its protection,urban ecological corridor,regional greenways,city-wide waterfront afforestation,the situations of the construction of the city-wide village and farmland forest network,and the situations of the construction of forest parks and forest rehabilitation projects in Zhaoqing city.With the above analysis,the paper discusses the forest network construction,urban forest health,the construction of urban featured landscape ecological forest belt,as well as the situations of forest park and forest rehabilitation in the city.According to the idea of sustainable development of urban forestry,the paper follows the basic principles of constructing the three major benefit evaluation index systems for urban forestry,and constructs the benefit index system for the forestry in Zhaoqing city.Through collecting data and building propermathematical models,the paper finds out that the total benefits of urban forestry in Zhaoqing reach 102.294 billion yuan,Zhaoqing won the“National Forest City” in 2016,Zhaoqing’s urban forestry has shown its unique characteristics.Through consulting and in-depth interviews with experts about the obstacles restricting the construction and development of urban forestry in Zhaoqing,particularly restrictions in forestry resources,urban development,system,operation and management,statistic analysis is conducted on experts’ viewpoints and suggestions.Besides,combining the actual situation in Zhaoqing,targeted countermeasures are proposed to promote the healthy development of urban forestry in Zhaoqing.
