In this study,the Xiangyaxiangzhan,Guixiangzhan and Meixiangzhanas representative aromatic rice varieties in the South China wereselected as material.To explore the effect of increase aroma cultivation in different regions,the experiment was carry out in Guangzhou,Luoding and Zhongshan area and observing the characteristics of growth and development,yield,quality,physiological characteristics and the content of aroma.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)Yield of Guixiangzhan in Guangzhou and MeixiangzhaninZhongshan wereincreasedsignificantly than CKin the early season.In the late season,the yieldof Guixiangzhan in Guangzhou,the Meixiangzhan in Luoding andfragrant rice in Zhongshanwere improved significantly.In this experiment,in addition to Meixiangzhan of Luoding,the increase aroma cultivation significantly reduced rice chalkiness and chalky grain rate in other treatments.The results showed that the increase aroma cultivation had a significant effect on the appearance quality of fragrant rice.(2)At the tillering stage,the dry matter accumulation in the above ground parts of aromatic rice in Guangzhou was significantly higher than CK in early season,reached 13.77% and 21.55%,respectively.In the early season,the dry matter accumulation about Guixiangzhan in Guangzhou was significantly increased by 18.86%at the heading stage.At the mature stage in early season period,in addition to the Guixiangzhan of Luoding and Meixiangzhan of Zhongshan,the amount of dry matter accumulation in the other treatments was significantly improved than CK,reached 6.49%~27.91%.In the late season,Besides the Guixiangzhan of Luoding,the amount of dry matter accumulation in the other treatmentswere significantly increased.The results showed that the increase aroma cultivation promoted the dry matter accumulationin the late stage,which was beneficial to the translocation of photosynthate to the grain.(3)Net photosynthetic rate of the leaves was increased by 6.70%~23.12% and 8.91%~21.26%respectively by increase aroma cultivationat the heading stage and maturing stage.At the booting stage,the SPAD of the aromatic rice cultivar in Guangzhou and Luoding areas increased significantly from 4.07% to 8.16% in the early season.The chlorophyll a content of aromatic rice in the Guangzhou area was significantly increased than CK in the early and late season.The net photosynthetic rate and SPAD of the early stage in fragrant rice were improved,which were beneficial to the accumulation of photosynthetic product.(4)Compared with the conventional cultivation techniques,the increase aroma cultivation techniques could improve the activities of SOD and POD in leaves at the booting stage,heading stage and mature stage,and the C AT activities at the booting stage and mature stage.The activity of SOD and POD was increasing until the heading stage,and themature stage decreased slightly.At theheading stage,the activity of POD in aromatic rice leaves of Guangzhou was significantly higher than CK,reached 5.25% and 6.00% respectively.At the mature stage,the activity of SOD in leaves of Guangzhou was increased than CKsignificantly,reaching 5.44% and 6.72% respectively.The higher protective enzyme activity could prevent the destruction of cell structure caused by oxidative substances effectively,and ensure the normal growth period.(5)The grain aroma content of Xiangyaxiangzhan in Guangzhou,Meixiangzhan in Zhongshan in the early season andGuixiangzhan in Luoding in the early and late season were higher than CK significantlyby the increase aroma cultivation technique.While the grain aroma content of other treatments were not show the same rules and the amount of fragrance was relatively small.In terms of aroma cultivation,the Guangzhou area is suitable for cultivation of Xiangyaxiangzhan,Zhongshan area is suitable for cultivation of Meixiangzhan and Luoding area is suitable for cultivation of Guixiangzhan.
