Eriobotrya belongs to the the rose family(Rosaceae),apple subfamily(Maloideae).There has been a long-existing chaos among the classification of Eriobotrya plans,the main reason for it is the Eriobotrya plants are easily confused compared with Rhaphiolepis,Photinia et al.In addition,a great variety and standard vacancy of cultivated loquat.The development of distinctness,uniformity and stability(DUS)test guideline of Eriobotrya plantsincluding the cultivatedand more than 20 wild Eriobotrya plants,and on the basis of this,the research of the database and management information system of the resource database of genus Eriobotrya including the known varieties,are significant for the healthy development of the loquat industry-research cooperation,which includes the identification,data quer y,informantion exchange at home and abroad,and variety improvement of the loquat germplasm.The main results are as follows:(1)This study is base on ―Collection and illustration of Eriobotya plants‖ published by the Science Press in 2016,and subject of ―Loquat New Varieties DUS Test Guideline‖ by ministry of agriculture in 2010.,a large amount of germplasm data were collected according to the internaional and Chinese compilation requirement of new plant variety DUS test guildeline,19 species,and 7 varieties were selected as test objects.(2)48 testing characteristics were sellected for DUS test,including 7 qualitative,30 quantitative,and 11 pseudo-qualitative.In other words,including 3 plants,2 branches and shoots,20 leaves,9 floral organs,11 fruits and 3 arils;―tree: habit‖,―leaf: shape of leaf‖,―flower: florescence‖,―furit: time of maturity‖,―furit: shape in longitudinal section‖,―furit: color of flesh‖ were selected as useful grouping characteristics.The expression states o f testing characteristics were scientifically described and hierarchical for the table of characteristics,compared with TG / 159/3 UPOV guidelines,delete 24 strong correlative testing characteristics,adjusted 22 expression states of testing characteristics.The ―Test Guidelines for the Eriobotrya Plants Variety Distinctness,Uniformity and Stability‖ was developed.(3)This study used Windows+PHP+Mysql+Apache as development platform,all the information was the historical survey date(from 2005 up to now)from the Loquat germplasm resource preservation garden of College of Horticulture,South China Agricutural University.This work concluded and established 52 descriptions as descriptor basis,and formed database tables,in order to build web version Eryobotrya plants germplasm resources database.In this database,―Fast Query‖ could be used for searching related germplasm,which is through fuzzy ―germplasm name‖,also the germplasm information is able to be searched by ―Standard Query‖ including ―variety‖,―tree habit‖,―tree height‖ and other 52 descriptors.
