PMSG,witch is called the serum of pregnant horse,is a kind of glucocorticoid protein.It is manifested as the dual activity of FSH and LH in sows.As a kind of biological extract hormone preparations,PMSG product ingredients and titer will be affected by material source,process,etc.So the variation of the effection between different products and batch is very obvious.In intensive pig farms,the application of PMSG for oestrus stimulation is a very important means of breeding management in sows.It is also an important measure to realize the batch management of sows.However,the comparison of outcomes of ovulation synchronization in sows by using different PMSG products is very limited.In view of this problem,PMSG products from different manufacturers were adopted to compare the effects of the application on the reproduction management of gilts and sows.The results showed that the production of PMSG gilts was 131 in A pharmaceutical factory,and the production of PMSG gilts was 18 in the B pharmaceutical factory,with the pregnancy rate of 48.09% and 77.78%,respectively,with A difference of 29.69% and significant difference(P<0.05).In the case of sows,there were 88 PMSG injection groups in A pharmaceutical factory and 26 PMSG in B pharmaceutical factory,respectively,62.50% and 88.46% respectively,with A difference of 15.96% and significant difference(P<0.05).The conclusion is that the application of B is better.In order to confirm whether the B takes better results due to it potency,we respectively using mouse uterus weight method and the content of intracellular cAMP potency of A and B were determined.Whereas,both organisms titer determination and cytology titer get a result of product A's potency is much higher than B's.Further observation in gross anatomical morphology,we found that the application of A led to a higher possibility of uterine and ovarian dropsy edema in the group of mice,which may due to high FSH titer of product A.Notwithstanding its limitations,this study does suggest that different sources of PMSG has obvious different effects on reproductive management.It is necessary to predict the potency and the effect of the candidate products first through experiments at the level of animal or cell level in production.
