This paper selects typical single forest type in Wuchuan County,Inner Mongolia,including Caragana microphylla Lam Pinus tabulaeformis Carr Hippophae rhamnoides;Pinus sylvesris L.var.mongolica;and Picea asperata Mast;mixed forest types are Pinus tabulaeformis+Pinus sylvesris L.var.mongolica+Armeniaca sibirica and Armeniaca sibirica+Hippophae rhamnoides and Pinus tabulaeformis+Caragana microphylla+Armeniaca sibirica Do research on forest spatial pattern of Wuchuan county;soil physical property and chemical property of forests;Water holding capacity of different forest types about litter and soil;the benefit of prevent the wind erosion that is converting to the forest and wind erosion in the area of farmland by collecting data?outdoors reseach?collecting of samples?experimenting and data processing The result of study is:1.Forest land is dominant position in shady side and half shady slope(P>1);forest land is dominant position in 8-35°and>35°(P>1).The curve of forest distribution index is very steep in every slope,that is prove that forest is sensitive of slope.2.The soil about Physical properties of Pinus tabulaeformis of in sunny side that is not affected by slope position,the different of slope position have remarkable affect on Physical properties of Pinus tabulaeformis the Soil water holding rate of Hippophae rhamnoides Linn.existing remarkable different.Three kind of mixed forest types have remarkable different on the soil water holding rate.3.Soil organic matter?alkali hydrolysable nitrogen and fast-acting potassium are more than soil available phosphorus and nutrient content have different from every layers,Picea asperata Mast which nutrient content is highest,aspect has exist more affect on soil surface of Pinus tabulaeformis different slope position of the sunny side and shady side that have different in alkali hydrolysable nitrogen and fast-acting potassium.that is prove different slope position only have affect on alkali hydrolysable nitrogen and fast-acting potassium content.4.Caragana microphylla have highest Maximum water holding capacity and effect intercept,that is 2.53t/hm~2and 1.49t/hm~2,Pinus tabulaeformis(sunny side and shady side)is lower than Caragana microphylla is 0.41t/hm~2 and 0.44t/hm~2.5.Soil maximum water holding capacity of single forest type,which is highest of Picea asperata mixed forest types,valid water holding capacity:Pinus tabulaeformis(shady side)is biggest,Pinus tabulaeformis(sunny side)is least.6.The benefit of prevent the wind erosion on the first forest belt:with the height increase present the increase first and then decrease rend of change,the forest benefit is increasing that is behind of the forest belt,respectively is 52.44%?60.47%and 63.81%.the second forest belt:The benefit of prevent the wind erosion is increase first and then decrease on 2 meter altitude.In the summary the Caragana microphylla Lam.have effect of prevent the wind erosion for Wuchuan city.
