Solenopsis invicta causes severe damage to humans, animals and the environment.Baits have been widely used for the control of this notorious pest. However, the environmental impact of pesticides including the effects of pesticides on nontarget species has become a serious problem. In this study,we tested flavor enhancers for their toxicity to S.invicta.Furthermore,We study the effects of flavor enhancers on survival of S.invicta different castes,Transfer of guanosine 5’-monophosphate disodium salt and glycine among S.invicta different castes, effect of sublethal concentration of disodium succinate and glycine on S.invicta behavior digging behavior, foraging behavior, and necrophoric behavior, try to explore flavor enhance bait and improve its efficacy, such as liquid, solid, gel on the survival of ants, how concentration, time interval, and the size of the drop for baits can influent with gel bait poison, improvement of gel bait performance, poison bait mechanism. The results were showed as follows: 1 Toxic effect of glycine, guanosine monophosphate disodium on red imported fire ant and its transference among the colonyOur results showed that mortality of S.invicta workers fed on glutamic acid monosodium salt hydrate,glycine,L-alanine,succinic acid, succinic acid disodium were all toxic for fire ants. There is a positive correlation exists among toxicity degree, dose, and time.glycine and guanosine 5’-monophosphate disodium salt exhibited the strongest toxicity.By feeding Guanosine monophosphate disodium and glycine poison,it takes 7-17 days to kill the whole nest, which shows chronic toxicity,so it can be develop as the stomach poison baits to control fire ants.Mortality of fire ants fed on flavor enhancers were different significantly among different concentrations and castes.Speed of poison transferring in workers was the fastest, following is larvae, the last is queens.Toxicity speed between ants fed on gloycine was greater than those fed on guanosine 5’-monophosphate disodium salt. After 24 hours’ s feeding, poison could be passed to workers in the nest, dyeing rate of workers increases with time.2 Effect of glycine, guanosine monophosphate disodium on digging, foraging and necrophoric behavior under sublethal doseAfter feeding 0.02g/m L of glycine solution or 0.05 g/m L of guanosine monophosphate disodium after solution, activities of digging, foraging and necrophoric behavior of the fire ants were siginifcantly decreased. It takes more time to move 0.5g food compared with workers without posious, which has significant difference for control.Time for workers’ finding, abandoning and throw away all bodies are longer after feeding on glycine and guanosine monophosphate disodium, especially guanosine monophosphate disodium.3 Control of Glycine, guanosine monophosphate disodium + syrup baits on S.invictaThe mortality of fire ants fed with guanosine monophosphate disodium solution was significantly greater than that of fed with 30% of sugar and other baits of fire ants.Guanosine monophosphate disodium showed the most toxic on the fire ant.Feeding with different volume every six hours, toxic effect of baits on the workers was different. The results show that the mortality of the fire ants increased with the volume of baits insecresed. With the extension of observation time, the mortality rate significantly increased, and reached 60% at 7 d.Interval of feeding for workers can also affected the mortality of workers. When the bait volume were the same, the mortality of workers increased as the feeding interval increased.Adding preservatives and moisturizer in syrup of baits, the result of ants survive is different, preservate has no effect on mortality of ants. With the extension of observation time, the mortality rising.Augumentation of preservatives and humectants did not affect the control effect of the fire ants.
