Sarcandra glabra Chloranthaceae is perennial evergreen shrubs,with high ornamental value and medicinal value.Sarcandra glabra seedlings were used as experimental materials,setting 3 light intensity?80%,60%,40%?and 4 nitrogen gradients?0,0.25,0.50,0.75?g per pot,to explore the impact of different light intensity,nitrogen content on growth,yield,nutritional and,physiological characteristics,and ultimately to make a comprehensive analysis of cultivation technology of Sarcandra glabra species.The main results were as follows:?1?Light and nitrogen significantly affected the growth parameters?P<0.05?,the same variation tendency was observed in the values of seedling height,ground diameter,ratio of height to diameter,total biomass,leaf index and root index,and those parameters increased initial and then decreased with decreasing nitrogen content under the same light environment,and the maximum values were observed in N2?0.50 g/plant?The seedling height increased than that with no fertilizer treatment in N2 nitrogen,a big changes were observed in leaf and root index,biomass accumulation also increased first and then decreased,and it also increased by 103.64%,68.56%and 47.59%than that with no fertilization treatment in N2 nitrogen treatment..On the other hand,L2 was the best under the same nitrogen level in 3 shade gradient,seedling height and diameter in L2 light intensity was increased by 40.36%and 25.31%than that in L1 light intensity,respectively.The biomass accumulation of L2 intensity was 18.69%higher than that of L1.?2?Light and nitrogen had significant effect on photosynthetic parameters of grass coral?P<0.05?,net photosynthetic rate and transpiration rate remained the same variation trend,these parameters increased initially and then decreased with increasing nitrogen supply under the same light condition,in addition,the maximum net photosynthetic rate observed in August in N2 nitrogen level,?5.10±0.13??mol·m-2·s-1,?7.68±0.19??mol·m-2·s-1and?5.71±0.22??mol·m-2·s-1,and the transpiration rate were higher that of no fertilization,23.34%,96.53%and 37.86%,respectively.Under the same nitrogen level,the net photosynthetic rate and transpiration rate were the largest under L2 light intensity,and which of LI increased by 50.71%and 145.80%than that in L1 light intensity,respectively.?3?Effects of light and nitrogen on the content of nutrient elements in different organs of Sarcandra glabra were significant?P<0.05?,the nutrient content under same light condition showed the trend of increase first and then decrease with increasing nitrogen,and peaked at N2 treatment,whereas the absorption and utilization efficiency was maximum on the N1.Under the same nitrogen level,the contents of nutrient elements in each organ were relatively higher under L2 light intensity,and the same variation trend was observed in the content of P and K,more over,the absorption and utilization efficiency of nitrogen were also the maximum under the L2 light intensity.?4?By principle component and comprehensive analysis,the growth,physiological parameters and nutrient content of L2N2?60%light intensity,0.5g/plant?were higher than that of other treatments.The effects of light and nitrogen interaction on the growth index,photosynthetic physiology and nutrient content of the plants were significant.As an important and shade tolerant plant for the development of under-forest economy,it is of great value to study the optimum light conditions for the growth of grass coral under the different canopy density.This study is to find out the suitable light and nitrogen application for the cultivation of the grass coral.The results provide a scientific and reasonable scheme for the control of the canopy density,and the amount of fertilizer in the practice of understory planting and artificial cultivation of Sarcandra glabra Chloranthaceae species.
