Potato is distributed in the north and south of China, and it is one of the four staple foods in China. It has important economic value and application value.Especially in developed countries, potato has become a mature industry. It is well known that the growth of potato is influenced by both biotic and abiotic factors. Many studies have pointed out that diseases, pests and soil pHysical and chemical factors seriously affect the growth and yield of potato. This paper mainly studies the growth performance of potato from two aspects:diseases and insect pests and soil pHysical and chemical factors.Jinshu 23 was selected as the research material and planted in four areas in Shanxi Province, namely Taigu,Yongji,Changzhi and Shuozhou.Potato diseases, insect pests and growth status in different regions were studied and analyzed. The results showed that the main diseases of Jinshu 23 were late blight, early blight and black shank disease, and the late blight was significantly higher than other diseases. The main insect pests were Coccinella axillaris and ApHids,of which Coccinella axillaris was significantly higher than other insect pests. The soil water content in Shanxi was low, lacking mineral elements N and P,but there was no significant difference in pH among the four regions, which indicated that pH did not affect the occurrence of diseases and insect pests of Jinshu 23.There is no difference in the proportion of soil carbon content and potassium content between Yongji area and Shuozhou area, but there are differences in the proportion of nitrogen content and phosphorus content, and there are significant differences in the proportion of diseases and insect pests between the two areas. This shows that the change of the proportion of soil nitrogen and phosphorus content will affect the occurrence of diseases and insect pests of Jinshu 23 to a certain extent, but due to the limitation of planting area and quantity of Jinshu 23.This conclusion needs to be further validated. The results indicated that the growth and yield of Jinshu 23 were affected by mineral elements in soil. The low yield of potato is mainly related to the occurrence of plant diseases, lack of effective pest management and poor soil.In order to ensure good growth and higher yield of potato,it is necessary to improve the ability of potato to resist diseases and insect pests, and on this basis to develop new disease-resistant plants and more scientific pest control measures.
