In order to solve some problems of millet in Shanxi Province,such as poor ecological conditions of drought and little rain,unreasonable production and distribution of varieties,backward cultivation and production technology,low mechanization,weak control of pest and low production level and efficiency,these studies have been carried out to screen high quality and yield millet varieties,balanced fertilization,appropriate tillage,reasonable planting and efficient utilization of fertilizer and water,which improved the whole millet industry level.The results showed that the optimal planting time of all varieties of glutinous millet was from mid to late early June,and the optimal density was 600,000/hm2,the optimal spacing of wide and narrow 20cm-40cm,and the seeding amount of 0.933kg/mu in Da Tong,according to the growth period,agronomic characters,economic characters and yield.In addition,the spraying of 0.3 g/L uniconazole is used to increase production at the early stage of the heading.
