Forest Health Assessment Of Eucalyptus Plantation In Guangxi State-owned Shatang Forest Farm

Large-scale construction of Eucalyptus plantations has aroused widespread concern from all walks of life on the ecological environment and biodiversity of cultivated areas.Therefore,the healthy management of Eucalyptus plantation has become a key field for the research and development of Eucalyptus plantation.In this study,57 plots of Eucalyptus plantation in the state-owned Shatang forest farm were set up to investigate.At the forest level,the health status of Eucalyptus Plantations in forest farms was evaluated and analyzed for eucalyptus plantations of different ages and for different business purposes by principal component analysis and cluster analysis.Fourteen indexes were selected from four aspects of forest structure,vigor and stability,and ecological environment status,including average DBH,average tree height,volume per hectare(/output volume),origin,stand density,canopy density,shrub coverage,herbaceous coverage,number of pests and diseases,management measures,accessibility,soil thickness,organic matter content,etc.The main findings are as follows:(1)The overall health of Eucalyptus plantations in the state-owned Shatang forest farm in Guangxi is good,and about 70%of the forest stands are in a healthy or sub-healthy state.(2)The small class of eucalyptus plantations of different forest species was evaluated.The overall health level of the short rotation industrial raw material forest was good,the overall health level of the protection forest eucalyptus plantation was moderate,and the overall health level of the special forest eucalyptus plantation was low.(3)To evaluate small classes of eucalyptus plantations of different ages groups,the overall health level of young age Eucalyptus plantation was low,that of middle-aged Eucalyptus plantation was good,that of near-mature Eucalyptus plantation was high,that of mature Eucalyptus plantation was low,and that of over-mature Eucalyptus plantation was good.(4)The health status of 14 consecutive sample plots was analyzed.In 2014,five of the six small classes of nearly mature forests showed unhealthy conditions.After cutting from nearly mature forests,they became young forests.The health status did not change.When they grew into middle-aged forest,the health status became sub-healthy.In 2014,there were 8 small classes of near-mature forests.During the process of growing into mature forests,the health status changed a lot.After harvesting,when they became young forests,health conditions were not healthy.(5)According to the data of 57 plots surveyed in 2014,the health status of the same plot was analyzed under different evaluation methods.40.35%of the small classes had the same evaluation results in different forest species and age groups.The health status of the other small classes had different evaluation methods and evaluation results.
