By the rapid development of modernization of and the introduction of advanced technologies from abroad to Chinese livestock industry,automated pig feed intake recording equipment(hereinafter referred to as "Automated Testing Equipment")was imported into Chinese market at the beginning of 20th century and broadly applied in domestic breeding farms,feed companies,government test stations,and scientific research in the universities and research institutes of China.Automated Testing Equipment,which can be put into group animals without interference to feed intake,can,compared with manual test,collect more accurate data of pigs such as average daily gain(ADG),feed conversion rate(FCR)and provide important guidance for pig breeding.However,when using Automated Testing Equipment,people pay little attention on accuracy of and the factors affecting testing data,which,has caused the inaccurate testing data.Such inaccurate data has brought increasingly impacts on modern genetic technology of pig breeding,and therefore,we should focus on improving data quality of Automated Testing Equipment.Through analysis on equipment's features which effect on data,and the factors which cause inaccurate data during testing period,this thesis put forward the theory of combining data quality management with pig performance testing.It introduces that testing of pig status shall be taken in all three phases including preparation,on-test and end-test period and monitoring shall be included the data of maximum and minimum threshold of feeding intake.Based on the case study of pig testing on the site of Zhejiang Kaishen Nucleus pig farm,this thesis focuses on abnormal data collected from Automated Testing Equipment,the root cause of abnormal data and solution of avoiding the abnormal data.Also,it makes a concrete analysis on data of abnormal weight,abnormal of feed consumption,events of zero RFID ear tag and error data causing from load cell malfunction etc.The above Analysis follows with data quality management procedure,i.e.real-time data assessment,problem feedback on and source of problems,rectification of problems on farm site,summary record,and procedure optimization.The case involved 180 pigs on 16 pig testing stations,i.e.there are 11 or 12 testing pigs on each station.The breeds of pigs in the case are Yorkshire and Duroc and the weight of pigs were from 23kg to 30kg before the testing and the weight was about 100kg at the end of testing.By studying the case,the thesis comes up with and further analyzes key elements of affecting the testing data with combination of data quality management.The thesis emphasizes on testing method,design layout of testing equipment,selection of testing plans,key points of equipment installation,suggestion on auxiliary equipment,staff responsibility and training,animal behavior,data checking and maintenance,prevention programs of abnormal data etc.Currently,Automated Testing Equipment have been widely used in pig industry,however,there are few researches touch on accuracy,influencing factors and improvements of testing data and standardization of data quality management procedure.This thesis,therefore,by using specific case study on testing data from the pig site and analysis and research on feature of the data from the micro-view,aims to find out the effective method to be applied into practical genetic selection.
