The present situation of horse breeding in Zhaosu YiLi is large scale and extensive,Horse infectious disease is becoming very serious in the areas.ER and Salmonella abortus equi could cause horse miscarriage.Strangles is characterd by pyrexia and forming abscesses on the lymph nodes of the head and neck.It could cause neck sepficemia and death. These 3 kinds infectious.diseases obstructrd the development of horse industry and cause serious economic losses. In order to investigate the epidemic characteristics and infection status of horse's ER,Strangles and Salmonella abortus equi in Zhaosu county of Xinjiang province and provide solid theory foundation for the prevention of these diseases and for the healthy development of horse industry,a total of 818 serum samples from 10 towns and 3 state horse farms where the horse breeding was the most concentrated in Zhaosu county were collected.Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)was used to detect antibodies against equine herpesvirus,S.equi.Micro-agglutination test was used to detect antibodies against S.abortus equi. Then statistical method was used to analyze the risk factors of these 3 infections from age, gender, region and breeding size. The results showed that average antibody positive rate of Equine herpesvirus was 24.69%,The average antibody positive rate of S.equi was 28.85%,The average antibody positive rate of S.abortus equi was 25.31%,These statistic analysis results indicated that gender and age were significant risk factors(P<0.05)and region was not significant risk factors for S.equi infection(P>0.05).Region and age were significant risk factor(P<0.05)and gender was not significant risk factor for ER infection(P>0.05).Region was a significant risk factor(P<0.05),but age and gender were not significant risk factors for S.abortus equi infection(P>0.05).In this study,we also used the inactivated vaccines of Strangles to immunize horse and evaluate its immune effect.Serum specific antibody levels of immunized horse were tested. The results showed that the vaccine could induce higher level of specific antibodies in horse,The antibodies level of secondary immunization in serum was significantly higher than the primary immunization. The antibody titer of antisera could reach to 1:243000.Compared to the survey data of immunized horses Strangles incidence The inactivated vaccines could get good immune effect if used properly.Incidence of strangles could drop significantly. This result lay a better foundation for further prevention and control for Strangle.
