Stripe rust caused by Puccinia striiformis f.sp.Tritici is one of the major destructive diseases of wheat.Through the molecular marker-assisted selection breeding technique(MAS),the resistance to stripe rust gene of Yr52 was successfully introduced into three Chinese elite wheat varieties and several introgression lines with enhanced rust resistance and high yield being produced.Hybridization was carried out with the anti-disease line PI 660057 and three major production varieties(Lunxun 987,Bainongaikang58,Han 6172)molecular marker Xbarc182 closely linked to Yr52 were selected by molecular marker-assisted selection,pairs of hybrid progeny were verified by field phenotypic evaluation to identify 50 families with improved resistance to stripe rust.Molecular marker-assisted selection and phenotypic screening of 50 new strains containing the Yr52 anti-rust gene provide a good source of resistance to new disease-resistant varieties. |
