| The object of this study was to explore whether exogenous glycine betaine(GB)application could improve the salinity tolerance in three Kentucky Bluegrass(Poa praternsis L)cultivars and selection’Baron,,’Midnight’ and ’A16’,Kentucky Bluegrasses were sprayed GB with 4 concentrations(0,50,100 and 150mM).200mM NaCI was added to create salt stress to three Cultivars and selection.Samples were picked up every seven days by testing its physiological and biochemical indicators to compare their salinity tolerance and to research the effects of Exogenous Glycine Betaine. The main results were as followed,Under salinity,4 A16’ appeared better salt tolerance than ’Baron’and ’ Midnight’·Compared the group applied OmM GB,the group with 50mM GB application on ’A16’and ’Midnight’ significantly alleviated the decline in TQ,RWC and CHL,enhanced the growth in Pro,and slowed down the growth in EL.50mM GB also significantly increased the activity of APX in ’A16’.The result illustrated that application can enhance the capacity of ’A16’ and ’Midnight’ to adjust Osmotic potential, alleviate damage from active oxygen caused by salinity stress. The application of 100mM GB showed similar effects on ’A16’ and ’Midnight’,but the 150mM GB Group in ’A16’ and ’Midnight’indicated negative effect on these indicators above. As to ’Baron’,The result showed 100mM GB significantly lightened the damage from salinity stress, and 50mM GB had less effection. These results indicated that appropriate concentration GB application on Kentucky Bluegrass can significantly alleviate the damage from salinity stress.Different Kentucky bluegrasses have different suitable GB concentration, and the best GB concentration for ’A16’ and ’Midnight’ is 50mM GB,for’Baron’ is 100mM GB. |
