Biological crusts,also known as biological soil crusts(BSCs),It is not only a common ground cover in arid and semi-arid areas,but also an important part of the desert ecosystem.Biological soil crust coverage is an important evaluation index and ecological parameter of ecosystems in arid and semi-arid regions,which is of great significance for the realizing of ecological environment monitoring.At present,the measurement of crust coverage is mainly accomplished by manual methods,which has the disadvantages of low efficiency,poor precision,etc.With the rapid development of digital image processing technology,images can be used to realize coverage measurement.Therefore,this thesis takes the biological soil crust image as the research object,adopts the methods of color space and clustering to achieve high-precision segmentation of the skin image.The coverage of biological soil crust was determined by morphological calculation.The specific work is as follows:(1)Biological soil crust images were collected and preprocessed.The biological soil crust image library mainly includes three types of lichens,moss and algae crusts.In order to facilitate the further study of the image,the image is preprocessed,mainly including image clipping,image scaling,image enhancement,image filtering and other operations.(2)Image segmentation of biological soil crust is realized.On the basis of preprocessing skinning images,three segmentation algorithms are used for image segmentation.Lab space and K-means clustering segmentation.RGB and CV model segmentation.OTSU Threshold segmentation.(3)Measurement and evaluation of biological soil crust coverage.The coverage of crust image is measured,the segmented image is processed by morphological operation,and the area coverage is calculated based on the binary image after morphological processing.The accuracy of image segmentation and coverage are evaluated.(4)Design and implement a MATLAB GUI-based biological soil crust image coverage measurement system.The main functional modules of the system include image preprocessing,color space conversion,image segmentation,morphological processing,and coverage measurement.The system is more complete and convenient for non-professionals.
